Site Submission status for www.ogills.com

Hi All.

I've tried submitting to dmoz.org since Oct 03 for my site, www.ogills.com

I then sent a feedback to ODP team on 3 Nov, and again in the beginning of Dec.

My site still has not been listed, and I've received no replies to my Feedback.

I've finally found this forum and can only hope that I can get some assistance with this. I'm doing OK with Google and Yahoo searches, and a lot of others, but not being in ODP is crippling.

If any editors, or other informed folks ;) ) can let me know what is wrong with my site, or why this delay has occurred, or even why I've gotten no response using the only reporting method I could find . . . I'd be grateful.

It's acceptable, but really you should wait for it to fall off the front page first. :)

I looked at it earlier, but as I can only see the Regional side, thought I'd leave it for someone who could check both.

All the sites in the Regional category were reviewed within the last couple of days and yours was added. It may not show on the public server for a couple of days, but it will appear as it has been listed.


As I cannot see the Shopping unreviewed I cannot say if it is sitting there, but it has not been rejected from that category.

Is it normal not to get notified about anything? or should I take it personally?? ;)
A submission of December 2nd is waiting for review in Shopping: Ethnic and Regional: European: Celtic.

You mean, why you didn't get any response from the editors you wrote to? Well, more than one editor have been burnt by being in personal touch with a submitter - some submitters get angry or even abusive, and so many editors rarely respond to feedback. We're all volunteers doing this as a hobby, after all.

Nah, don't take it personal. There is no automated response when a site is accepted or rejected, and again, very few editors write to tell webmasters they have been included. It's important to remember that we aren't providing a listing service for web masters - that's just a byproduct of what we are here to do, which is to list good sites! Submissions from the public is only one way for us to find those sites.

Heheh, well thanx for the honesty there nea!! ;)

I'm not going to get into what I think about non-communication for fear of a possible negative response, cause that's not what we're here about.

I only knew of the one method to try to contact editors, and that was to use the generic Feedback form on the dmoz site.

Now that I know I can at least get responses to queries through here, I feel all warm and fuzzy inside, instead of the limbo status I had been relegated to.
