I thank you for your time and consideration and would appreciate it if someone could respond to this message as to the status of my website submission for www.online-store-list.com. I believe that I submitted it under the http://dmoz.org/Business/Consumer_Goods_and_Services/ the last time and services section but am not absolutely certain of this at this time. In addition, I am a rookie to this type of process and fear that I might have in my impatience brought on by not understanding this process have submitted the site too many times not understanding how it works on your end. If I have caused the staff of the open directory additional work by doing so I appologize. I hope that you found the site in it's newest format as a review and list site acceptable. If however you did not I would appreciate any feedback you might have as to how to improve the site and make it acceptable to the open directory. Again, I am a rookie to this and value all advice. thank you for taking the time to help me out. Also if the site is listed as turned down please review it again as I have been working diligently to make it a more informative venue.
Thank you again,
Michael Sredinsky

please be more specific, I have read the guidelines and feel my content

Thank you for reviewing my site. Can you please be more specific because I have read the guidelines and though they definitely caution against affiliate sites, they also say that the sites can be included if they offer unique information. I hope that by building a review site to give people comparisons of the multitude of online stores that my site is going in the right direction with this. The following is an excerpt from the guidelines.
General rule of thumb: Look at the content on the site, mentally blocking out all affiliate links. If the remaining information is original and valuable informational content that contributes something unique to the category's subject, the site may be a good candidate for the ODP. If the remaining content is poor, minimal, or copied from some other site, then the site is not a good candidate for the ODP.
My content is definitely original as it is my own opinion of the product categories, quantity and performance of the store's website performance. Hopefully you agree with this. Please give me some feedback. If you feel that I need more content, I am planning to fill the rest of the space on the bottom of each page with reviews of stores of the specific category which is listed on that page. Again I have read the guidelines and if you are using the following to disallow my site
Sites Consisting Primarily of Affiliate Links
Sites consisting primarily of affiliate links, or whose sole purpose is to drive user traffic to another site for the purpose of commission sales, provide no unique content and are not appropriate for inclusion in the directory. However, a site that contains affiliate links in addition to other content (such as a fan site for a singer that has interviews and photos plus banner ads and links to buy the singer's CDs) might be an acceptable submission to the directory.
Then please reconsider as it states that it is for sites which provide no unique content. I believe that mine does in the form of the reviews, and this conforms to the part of the guidelines I listed earlier in this posting.

There may be a bit of a language problem here. What you call "reviews" is indistinguishable from what we'd call "search engine spider poison with keyword-stuffing filler." And I can't imagine how you could think we wouldn't realize it is a site "whose sole purpose is to drive user traffic to another site for the purpose of commission sales."

This was not a close call. You need to look for venues that take paid advertising (there are zillions of them on the web), as opposed to the handful of generic information-driven directories (ODP, Zeal, etc.)

It's a big web. Your site is one of many in which we can have no possible interest. Our site is one of only a few that share no common interest with you.
