I recently bought the domain for my site and moved it and it is now located at http://www.darrensplace.net. I see my old information up on the Google and Yahoo search. And if you just type in darrensplace, the new address does come up. I don't want to cause my listing to be deleted, but I was wondering if the address can just be updated? I submitted the new link and probably shouldn't have. I probably should've come here first, lol. Sorry about that. I do have a referrer on my old page, so everything comes on over to the old www.darrensplace.bravehost.com addy. So if you can't change the address, it won't be a problem. Let me know what I need to do. Have a great night!

Thanks,
Dawn

We do not have any control over Google or Yahoo. However, if you have a listing in the ODP, then you should navigate to the category where the site is listed and use the update listing tab at the top of the page.

:D Hello. It's me again.... Just curious if you could tell me why on some search engines, when you do a search for darrensplace.net, it shows Relocate as the title of the site and says in description, your browser doesn't use java? Does this mean they're in the process of changing it, or is there a code that is wrong that is causing this? I notice when you type my site in as http://www.darrensplace.net, you get the Relocate message at the top of the site, then it switches to darrensplace.net/index.html. Any ideas on why this is happening? I know this isn't really a forum for that kind of help, but I just want to make sure I show up on all the search engines correctly.

And any clue as to how I get Google and Yahoo to fix their engines? I don't know who to direct an email to.

One more question, when I totally shut down the bravehost site (http://www.darrensplace.bravehost.com) after I feel everyone knows I've moved, do I need to do anything else or will the robots/spiders pick it up and automatically delete it once it's gone?

Thank you so much for any help you can give,
Dawn

That's something your webmaster or your web host has put in place. You'd have to check with them to find out why they've put that redirect there. The fact that the search engines are only showing the redirect page means they aren't following the redirect to your actual site and instead are getting stuck at the redirect page.

As for your other questions, we aren't Google or Yahoo and this really isn't the place to find out about search engines, spiders, robots.txt, or anything like that.
