Site Submission Status & Question

I submitted my site http://www.strugglingteens.us/ to:

http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Child_and_Adolescent/Treatment/Treatment_Facilities/

However, I just found that our old site: http://www.troubledteens.org/ was submitted at some point to:

http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Child_and_Adolescent/Treatment/Outdoor_Programs/

It comes up as Diamond Ranch Academy. I would like to take it out from Outdoor Programs and just move it to Treatment Facilities & then of course change the URL and description to my latest submission. Can this be done fairly easily?

All you have to do is put a "we have moved" notice on troubledteens.com so that we can see that it is an old site, and that you'd prefer to have your new one listed. Then you can just submit an update requesting the change.

Sorry, the site I'm referring to that we own and is already in the dmoz is teenranch.org and it is already registered and located at:
http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Child_and_Adolescent/Treatment/Outdoor_Programs/

As far as proof that it is owned by us when you go to teenranch.org it is setup to automatically forward to strugglingteens.us

Also, the title for the site in the DMOZ is "Diamond Ranch Academy", which is us. How do I put in the request to move the site and change the URL, description, etc. to:

http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Child_and_Adolescent/Treatment/Treatment_Facilities/

Will I need a login and password to do this? If so, I don't have it and whoever submitted the site long, long ago is long gone. Thanks for your response.

Now that you've remembered which site is yours, I can see that it does indeed re-direct, so I've gone into the category and updated that for you. You won't be able to see the changes until after the 20th July, due to the public side of dmoz being frozen until our server upgrades are complete.

If you want your title or decription updated, you'll need to go to the category that it's currently listed in, and click the "Update_URL" link in the top right corner. You'll be given a form to fill in, and in the 'description' field you can suggest a move to another category.

Unfortunately the server upgrades that we're in the middle of mean that it's almost impossible to get the update link to work. I suggest you sit back, and wait until after 20th July, which is when we are hoping to have the system running smoothly again. If it's not running happily on that day, give it another week. I know it's frustrating to have to wait, but once the update is complete, the editors will be able to work on your submission much more easily.

As listed in this thread. Our site currently is listed in:
http://dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Child_and_Adolescent/Treatment/Outdoor_Programs/

With the URL: http://www.teenranch.org/ and description "Diamond Ranch Academy..." which redirects to http://www.strugglingteens.us/

We would like to move it to:
http://dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Child_and_Adolescent/Treatment/Therapeutic_Schools/

And change the URL to:
http://www.strugglingteens.us/

And change the description to:
"Helping troubled teens resolve their problems through our natural transition program(TM). Work, school and recreational activities are all designed to contribute to healthy, emotional growth."

However, when I go to the directory where our site is currently located and click Update URL and type in the URL exactly as it appears it keeps telling me the URL does not exist in that category. And again the category I am clicking Update URL in is:

http://dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Child_and_Adolescent/Treatment/Outdoor_Programs/

I've tried typing in:
http://www.teenranch.org/
www.teenranch.org
teenranch.org
teenranch.org/
www.teenranch.org/

but, it always states that the site does not exist in the directory.

Please help. We would like to get our URL, Description, and location in the directory changed as soon as possible. Thank you for any response.

You need to wait until the site appears in the category with the correct url. As dfy said above, that's been queued up and will happen automagically but not as soon as we'd all like because of the upgrades.

Then, and only then, use the update url method you were given.

The URL for teenranch.org has been successfully changed now to strugglingteens.us, but we have not been moved to the directory that correctly reflects our site's contents. I would like to know what the status is on moving our site from:

http://dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Child_and_Adolescent/Treatment/Outdoor_Programs/

to:

http://dmoz.org/Health/Mental_Health/Child_and_Adolescent/Treatment/Therapeutic_Schools/

(The current title for our site is: "Diamond Ranch Academy" if that makes it any easier to find us.)

Thank you for your response in advance,

I'm glad to hear it has moved, but I'm not seeing it moved to Therapeutic Schools yet. Does it just take a while to refresh?

Yes. When all the servers are working, it "should be no more than 12 days."

In any case, it's out of our hands, and will surely happen as quickly as our techies' automatic processes can make it happen.
