Regarding instuctions: Do not submit any site with an address that redirects to another address. I have registered a domain name with a provider who's service will redirect requests for that domain name to the address where my site is hosted at my internet service provider. The question is: do I submit the domain name I registered or the URL where the site is hosted, or both?

One of the editors with a larger propeller on their head will answer the technical part of your query.

I just want to take a second to thank you for reading the submission guidelines. It is pretty rare, and we would much rather answer questions like your, than simply having to parrot the guidelines that someone is too lazy to read.

I'll give you a simplified hypothetical. This may not match your situation.

Your website exists at http://users.isp.com/~joeblow/ . You have registered http://www.vanity.com/ which redirects to http://users.isp.com/~joeblow/ because you wish to project a more professional image/give people a shorter domain to remember/whatever reason site owners have for using redirects.

Assuming the site is listable, it should be listed under http://users.isp.com/~joeblow/ .

This is a website that I've set up for my parents. It is hosted at www.members.shaw.ca/willowkinfolk
I have registered the domain name with Domain Direct as
www.willowkinfolk.com
If it is best to use the host address how will the link presented in a search read? As the (dot com) or as (members)?

What you've got there is what we term a "framed redirect."

http://www.members.shaw.ca/willowkinfolk/ is the URL that would be listed, assuming it is listable.

OK So I will submit the http://www.members.shaw.ca/willowkinfolk Right?
And what considerations at this point do I need to aware of in regards it being listable. I will in the near future be submitting two more sites and being informed is a great thing. Thanks for all your help.
