I submitted our site to DMOZ and did not get a Submission Successful message and due to that, submitted the same site 3 or 4 times without any positive response. I shared my concern in "Bugs & Features" and one of the administrators was kind enough to respond immediately. I submitted the miracle yantra site on behalf of my guruji, under society, religion, sprituality, shopping, and again I'm going to submit as I understand my ealier submission (repeated)was not successful. Now my question is what message I should get to ensure that submission was successful.

I would appreciate your early response as I am going to submit the site tomorrow morning (now the time here is 2:30pm) that means in about 17 to 18 hours, I will be submitting the site. Thank you!

With Guruji's blessings,

Vadur

The final screeen of the URL suggestion transaction is shown below.

Your site submission has been received.

An editor will review your submission for inclusion in the directory.

Once your site has been accepted into the Open Directory, it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to several months for your site to be listed on partner sites which use the Open Directory data, such as AOL Search, AltaVista, HotBot, Google, Lycos, Netscape Search, etc. We make updates of the data available weekly, but each partner has their own update schedule.

Consider becoming an editor and maintaining a category. The Open Directory has a comprehensive set of tools for adding, deleting, and updating links in seconds. For just a few minutes of your time you can help make the Web a better place, and be recognized as an expert on your chosen topic.

The suggested sites are kept until reviewed by an editor, however long it might take, so there is no need to re-suggest.

I'm not an editor, but this question has been asked many times. They don't send out an e-mail notification stating your listing was approved or rejected. You simply have to keep checking the sub-category you suggested your link to and see if its listed there or not. There's no time frame for the editors to list your site, as the directory is run on a volunteer basis. Could be anywhere from a few days to a few years to get your site listed. Just check the sub-category you submitted your site to every once in a while.

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

Thank you very much jimnoble, Twhite for replies

its been over a month now, still not listed.

giving up DMOZ anyway.

if an individual volunteer can approve or reject a website without giving any reasons, doesn't sound too good.

maybe he/she just didn't like the website, or maybe he/she was high on drugs when they check the website? lol possible right? :-D

anyway i noticed most of the tools removing DMOZ from their results eg. SEOquake . Must have a good reason.
