Site submitted to incorrect category (possibly)

Hello.

I submitted a site ( http://www.victorianbathrooms4u.com - I have been following it's progress @ http://www.resource-zone.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=status&Number=41702&Forum=All_Forums&Words=victorian&Match=Entire%20Phrase&Searchpage=0&Limit=25&Old=3weeks&Main=35894 ) to:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Home_Improvement/

on 17th June. I have had another look at the structure of that area in Dmoz, and can see that the site would be more correctly placed in:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/Home_and_Garden/Bathroom/

My question is, how do I go about amending the submission request to the more correct category please?

Do I simply need to re-submit to the correct category - how do I then let the reviewer know that it is also (incorrectly) submitted in the first cat ? By re-submitting would this be classed as Spam, also would it go to the back of the queue and lose out on almost 2 months of waiting ?

So many questions!

Many thanks for your time.

Given that your company is based in Normanton, I would think that Normanton is a category that you would be eligible for a listing in. If you only ship within the UK then you correctly identified the UK-Shopping-Bathroom category as a category where you would additionally be entitled to a listing. If however you ship to the UK and to other countries, you would be eligible instead for a listing in this category .

Resubmitting to a more appropriate category is ok - you may wish to mention this thread in your submitted description; it will be removed if and when the site is published. In terms of being at the top of the queue, whether or not you've written a guidelines-compliant title and description is a far more important factor in affecting the speed of review than when you submitted, since few editors edit in date order.

Hope that helps. :)

Hi all, sorry to bring this up again. The site has been inserted into the correct category now, as detailed above - many thanks to the Editor who sorted out the problems and added it :D

But... (always a but)... it has been added using the wrong domain name ( victorianbathrooms4u.co.uk ) which is solely used for "brand protection" - is registered only to stop others registering the domain name IYSWIM).

I am wondering the correct procedure to change the listing from .co.uk to .com (everything else about the listing to stay as is)...

Many thanks for any advice :)

Just to explain:
That one has been listed long before you asked about the above submission. Which then was rehected because of the already listed entry. According to our logfiles, the .co.uk adress has been submitted, too.

I would suggest submitting an Update URL request when the bugs have been removed from the system and this is possible again.

No need to submit a request, the URL has been changed, since the .co.uk one is clearly a framed redirect.

Hello, I have also submitted a site to the wrong category and I have read that if I submitt identical url's to different categories I could get banned. I think I also misstated the url, that is, gave the wrong url.

The wrong URL I submitted was http://floridacondorental.netfirms.com and I submitted it to REGIONAL:NORTH AMERICA:UNITED STATES:FLORIDA:LOCALITIES:F:FORT MYERS BEACH:TRAVEL AND TOURISM:LODGING:VACATION RENTALS.

I need to submitt http://www.floridacondorental.netfirms.com to the category of REGIONAL:NORTH AMERICA:UNITED STATES:FLORIDA:LOCALITIES:E:ESTERO:TRAVEL AND TOURISM:LODGING:VACATION RENTALS

Can someone help? I don't want to do the wrong thing and get banned somehow so I'm reluctant to submitt the corrected URL.

The URL http://www.floridacondorental.netfirms.com/ is already listed in Regional/North_America/United_States/Florida/Localities/F/Fort_Myers_Beach/Travel_and_Tourism/Lodging/Vacation_Rentals/By_Owner under the title 60211 County Creek Dr.. If you really think it's not the appropriate category please submit a category change request by clicking on the "update URL" link at the top of the page and say that you want it to be moved to the other category in the "Please describe the nature of your changes:" field that displays once you've filled the URL field in.
