Site submitted

Hello, I believe I submitted my site about 3 weeks ago. It is <URL removed>. Can someone there give me an update?

You might have misunderstood our objectives and how we operate here. ODP is a volunteer organisation building a directory as a hobby. Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. We have no schedules or systems to force people to do work that they don't volunteer to do. ODP is not primarily a free listing service for website owners and it does not attempt to process their listing suggestions within the time scales desired by them.

Some volunteer will process your listing suggestion in time but we can't predict who or when that might be. Elapsed times can range from a few days to a few years. There is no need to re-suggest your website and doing so could be counter-productive because a later suggestion overwrites any earlier one.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. Won't post again to see if my website has been submitted because I'm not sure it has. I'm not sure my submission went through. Time will tell. I appreciate this is for people by people, it is free, and put a link on my front page.

If you think it might have not went through, feel free to resuggest the same URL to the same category. A new suggesiton will just overwrite the previous one (if there was one).

I submitted my site to a category months ago, and it states this category was last updated on Thursday, May 26, 2011 6:07:26 PM EDT. Is this common?

It's the nature of our volunteer model that some categories don't get looked at for years sometimes.

I understand this. I give credit to you, and all the other volunteers for keeping this directory going. Looks like I'll forget about the DMOZ dream, and continue to work hard on my site. Good things will come regardless!
