I have a client that there buisiness name includes a key word. In addition so does the title since there name does as well.

We will use underwater basket weaving as an example:

Company Name = Underwater Basket Weavers

Web Title = Underwater Basket Weavers specializing in underwater basket weaving since 1906 XYZ Town.

A description created by a marketing person.

If I were to add the description for DMOZ

"Specializing in underwater basket weaving since 1906 in XYZ Town." Site has gallery, contact information, as well as basket design services.

Is that a descriptive title or is that considered spamming keywords? As I may be the guilty :)

If it is should I re-submit or will that make it only worse?

The title of a commercial listing should be the name of the company.

We avoid repeating title and category path info in the description.
Instead, we tell the surfer what the company does (if not obvious from the name) and what s/he'll find on the website. We don't do keywords.

Few listing suggesters are expert at writing guidelines compliant titles and descriptions and editors routinely rewrite them anyway. This doesn't affect a website's listability. However, a well crafted listing suggestion may well stand out from the crowd and be processed more quickly.

In common with other long-term editors who have posted here over the years, I can confirm that in over 85,000 edits I have seen maybe 5-10 webmaster titles/descriptions which met the editing guidelines. :p

But that did not prevent my adding over 23,000 sites to the directory. It is one of the roles of a volunteer - to review and describe websites. :)

Ooh, I came across one of those rare good-as-submitted descriptions the other day. I was quite shocked.

That's primarily so people avoid making posts that just consist of a smiley, as you just discovered. :D
