Directories (I did not look at yours) are allowed in the ODP, however the requirements are very difficult. You really have to be the best of the best to get listed.

Yes and No, many directories just end up listing sites which we already have, it would be redundant to list them.

Many directories are set up purely to list other sites in order to provide text for Google AdSense and provide no other value.

Most general purpose directories are not listable.

A directory has to work harder, and bring added value to justify listing it.

So a directory that targets a specific subset of the universe and does it in a way that is unique is more likely to get in.

Thanks for the replies, I believe my site may meet the qualifications since I have received compliments about the service and I try my best to keep the "garbage" out of the directory to provide good content.
