Hi guys,

This is a heartfelt appeal for an editor to please show some love to the Games/Video_Games/Simulation/Flight/X-Plane/ category.

There's tonnes going on in the X-Plane world at the moment, with a new major release of the sim out in December. Many excellent X-Plane resource sites are available and the measly 4 links shown in this category are not representative of the community that surrounds X-Plane, especially when compared to Games/Video_Games/Simulation/Flight/Microsoft_Flight_Simulator_Games/, which despite been discontinued by Microsoft still contains 75 links and includes 9 sub-categories. Developers are moving from Microsoft Flight Sim to X-Plane, as it is the only commercial consumer desktop sim available that is orientated to general flight simulation as opposed to military shoot-em-up gameplay.

Therefore, I appeal to some kind editor to spend some time on this category, it deserves more!

Cheers,
Aussi.

Editors edit where they wish, when they wish and as much as they wish within the constraints of their permissions. Very few editors ever visit this forum and it's really unlikely that one of them will be interested in that particular category.

If you think it's an important problem, become part of the solution and volunteer to become an editor there yourself :).

Hi Jim,

Many thanks for your quick reply.

Hehe, yes I tried that a year or so ago, but my application was rejected. Unfortunately it took so long to assess that by the time I got the rejection I had forgotten what I'd said on the application form, so it was a bit difficult to work out where I had gone wrong!

I was just hoping that posting an appeal here might prompt someone to spend a little time on a category I have a lot of interest in.

Having an application rejected is not final, so unless specifically instructed not to, you are welcome to re-apply (keeping a copy in case). :)

Hi Elper,

The message said my titles or descriptions needed work, so I might have a think about applying again. I don't suppose my previous application is on record and could be emailed to me?

I found your application of 2011-07-06 [114312] and it looks as though you could be a great asset to our directory. I encourage you to try again (as our response did) but first take a look at this FAQ and General Advice.

We don't expect perfect titles and descriptions from applicants but it's important that they be neutral and avoid words such as quality. We try to avoid repeating category path words such as X-Plane in descriptions. Also, we think it's the website owner's job to provide adequate navigation and so avoid listing a URL's subpage or subdomain in the same category as the root.

Sadly, previous applications are not in an emailable form so next time, save the page before you send it.
