Hello everyone,

Over the past few years myself and more than dozens of people where trying to suggest websites to the Israeli Dmoz directory (located here : http://www.dmoz.org/World/Hebrew/) unsuccessfully.
All of the forums in Israel are talking about that phenomenon. Israel's editors have been rejecting/ignoring thousands of requests.
On the other hand, we see that the directory sometimes include few websites that are connected to the same person, as if the editors only take care of people they know.

I myself have trying suggesting more than 20 websites (related, and unrelated to me) for different categories over the years.

Israel's Dmoz directory is so unupdated. I've tried registering to be an editor, and didn't even recive a 'no'.

Can someone take a look at Israel's editor list and see how inactive are they ?
I'll be more than happy to become an editor if needed.

Thank you for the stage

There is not some thing as being to inactive for an editor.
We do not force editors to do a specific amount of work.
The only thing we do is make an editor inactive after he has done no edit during 4 months. The editor can always request for reinstatement.
We also do no force an editor to review suggested websites. An editor may or may not use the pool of suggested websites to build categories.

On the other hand, we see that the directory sometimes include few websites that are connected to the same person, as if the editors only take care of people they know.
If such behaviour exists it will not be tolerated. Editors have a lot of freedom but they are not allowed to give preference to certain websites.
If you have proof (with examples of which websites are included) please write an abuse report on DMOZ.

Every application gets a response.
Due to a switch to new software we have at the moment a large list of open applications.
see http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showannouncement=14&f=10

If you provide the requested information we can check if your application is still open. Sometimes the emails are lost in a spamfilter.
