I use sitemeter as a visitor counting tool on this website, and I noticed when looking through the referal links that a dmoz editor had visited the site from the gift basket category. I was wondering if my site is in a process of being included. I submitted to dmoz when I was on the google directory listings, and for some reason if you type in "somethingspecialgiftbaskets.com" at the google search, the website is listed, but not in the directory, and it is not listed in the dmoz directory either. I am just confused as what the status of this site submission is.

Why it posted for the United Kingdom is beyond me, since we won't sell gift baskets out of the United States. I picked the proper category back about a little over a month ago.

Not sure now it ended up in the queue for UK Gift Baskets but now it's sitting in the queue for the Indianapolis category.

You don't belong in the Business category but you are still in the queue in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Gifts/Gift_Baskets/S along with over a dozen other sites.

So what is the status now since it has been roughly 1 week. I am just curious if I am getting any closer.

You've been listed in Noblesville for about a week. You're still in the queue of the Shopping category, though, along with less than 20 other sites. Don't know how long it will take before you reviewed there.

Any progress?? It has been roughly two weeks, and supposidly I was located in queue with less then 20 sites. Thats an awful long time. I am being patient and I am not forcing this issue, just making sure the site is actually making some progress. December 12, 2002 was the first time I posted on this topic, though it had already been 2-3 weeks or so since I submitted the site, so I would say it is pushing roughly 2 months since submission. Any news would be fantastic.

Please wait at least a month until askng for updates.

Since all editing is voluntary, no predictions on review times can be made. There are soingle sites waiting alone in some categories for everal months.

Btw: If you dont have to fear that your site is rejected for being affiliate, MLM or without content in fact the status "in queue" should not need any update...

I couldn't tell by that last sentence whether you meant a site in "queue" is non-content and an affiliate, or that a site in "queue" is good to go once the reviewer gets to it.

Hi. I know I have posted several times, but according to my last post in January, it has been a minimum of 1 month, and the only location somethingspecialgiftbaskets.com is located in is the Noblesville location. It "supposidly" was with less then 20 other sites. I would like to know if my site is no longer being reviewed, has been tossed out, or is still in que. If it is still in que, I am guessing the editor in my category no longer edits for dmoz since it has taken so long. I apologize if this comes off stern, it is not meant to be that way. I just want to know whats going on with the site.

Being in such a small queue is a good thing.
and they said...unless you have something to fear about being kicked out for no content, or affiliates, or any other such reason for noninclusion..then sit back and relax...your day will come.

(I know..I have been waiting since October in a long long queue and just recently got moved to a shorter line)

Man, thats a bummer. So, in 2 months and 5 days, the queue is still exactly the same, since I was last told that I was with 20 other sites. Well, I will just keep checking back. While I am waiting, I might try the pay route.

Dmoz does not have a pay option, and it never will have.

As for the queue, the number of sites waiting in your alphabar section might be misleading. It sounds like there aren't many, but that is just one letter of the alphabar. In reality, the queue for gift baskets is quite large. I occasionally edit in gift baskets when time allows, but I work on sites in all areas of the alphabar based on date submitted--meaning I sort by the oldest site first. Your site was just first submitted on 16/Feb/2003 16:58:53 MST, it hasn't been that long. Others also do work in that area, and they may sort differently (editors can sort by title, date or url). The gift basket category as a whole gets a large number of submissions. I would suggest being patient, as I imagine it may be awhile longer. You seem to be focusing on the number 20 (which isn't the exact number waiting, but reasonable close in that section) and are under the assumption that there aren't that many and why isn't it being listed. In reality, there are a lot of sites waiting. It is a popular area, and gets a lot of submissions.
