I have submitted my web site several times to the OPD over the course of 2 years. I am seeing every one of my competitors listed. Are most editors biased?

Is that a question or your opinion of reality?

If it's a question - when entering any new forum, it's always good to read the instructions for posting, and take a note how the forum runs, rather than jumping in with accusations.

That's also why we took the trouble to provide a FAQ page.

First of all multiple resubmissions of the same URL only accomplish one thing: They delay the review process because editors spend their time deleting duplicates and moving to most appropriate categories. So you may be fighting a losing battle with yourself.

The above being said, have you ever bothered to go to the appropriate forum thread and properly format a status request to find out what is going on with your suggestion? Not under your current nic, so either the answer is no or you have changed your nic for some unknow reason.

Before accusing editors of being biased, you might want to check and see what is going on with your suggestion(s).

Also keep in mind that there is no guarantee that any suggested site will ever be listed.

Just my (biased) :2cents:

Yes, the editors are biased.

We are biased towards building a great directory.
We are biased toward finding and listing great sites.
We are biased towards being independant.
We are biased away from becoming a webmaster listing service.
We are very biased against spammers.
We are biased in that we work on the parts of the directory that interest us, and ignore those that are not.
We are biased to assume that people who come into our forum and immediately begin attacking our integrity are probably spammers or directory abusers.

Hope that helps.

Help solve the problem

I too have waited a long time for my submission to be activated. However, I have decided to help fix the problem instead of the blame. Maybe you should become an editor to assist in speeding the process instead.
