Specific Reason for Rejection

Hi

I have applied twice now to be an editor. The first reason a few days ago was that the category was too large, so I reapplied for a microscopic category.

http://dmoz.org/Society/Relationships/Dating/Personals/Regional/Europe/Ukraine/

I was rejected again and really I cannot see any reason why, given the normal reasons given for rejection. I can post my application here with a refutation of each point but it would be really helpful if you could tell me the specific reason why I was rejected.

There was no conflict of interest, there were no spelling mistakes, the sites were great candidates, the descriptions were well written and in line with current examples in that directory. My experience is excellent on the subject matter and I am a very impartial character. So why the rejection?

I'm not in a position to know for sure why you were rejected, but it may have been due to applying to a spammy category. You may want to apply to one that's less of a spam magnent. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

Here's a suggestion: Try applying for a small cat with under 30 listings from Regional/Europe/Ukraine/Localities first.

It should be easier to get.

&gt;&gt; I can post my application here &lt;&lt;

That actually would help. You see applications are not saved, so besides the one meta who processed your application no one else can give you a reason as to why your application was rejected.

If you have a copy of the application you can post it here, however you may be more comfortable in doing that privately. You may feel free to e-mail me at enarra-at-enarra-dot-com and I'll give you any advice I can. (I'm a meta, so I'm one of the folks who reviews these applications.)
