sorry, only some pilot talk. Does anyone know how I can get in contact with an editor for the "adult" section of this forum, I need a password to use it. We have a brand new type of site gaining national attention and nothing but spectacular reviews, yet after years of trying and submitting a few times, we have never heard back from Dmoz, not a peep or even a confirmation that they've received our request. What are we doing wrong?

What kind of confirmation were you expecting? An exploding penguin on top of your monitor?

What usually happens when you submit a site, is that the browser shows a page saying "Thank you for suggesting this site to the Open Directory Project...An editor will review it...bla bla bla". What you're doing wrong is misinterpreting that as an inadequate confirmation.

Unfortunately, what has (very occasionally) happened is a page saying "error in cgi script" or some such. That is a sign that we may not actually receive the request.

But go now to the Members forum, and there's a thread to ask for access to the Adult forum. You can ask there if the site has been reviewed yet.

no, nothing like that, I assure you. We're only hoping, after years of trying, to either:

1.) Get listed in Dmoz
2.) Get some hint at what might be preventing us from such.
3.) Be able to communicate about this with an editor, or really *anyone* at Dmoz.

we sure don't mean to be unreasonable, I hope none of these points are.

#1's not guaranteed, and generally speaking, #2 is always the same reason: lack of unique content, and the webmaster ALWAYS knows better than the editor possibly can, how much unpublished unique content he has. So there's not really any point in asking us about that. We can tell you whether the site has been reviewed, and editors who are willing to communicate come to these forums. So go to the member forum, get access to the adult forum, and (within the limits of the forum guidelines) communicate away!

Your password appears to have been sent several hours ago. Please let me know if you didnt get it.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to delete your most recent post, since our rules require that discussion of adult oriented web sites take place only in the adult forum. I apologize for any inconvenience that may cause you.

Roger, radar service terminated... Squawk 1200 ga-day.

Oh yeah... Call the Tower from your destination about the improper use of the transponder frequency.

Shouldn't you have said that you were squawking 7600 with Adult?

But now we are Squawking 7500 with this thread :)
