I know this isn't directly DMOZ related, but I thought it might be of interest to some of you. If it isn't appropriate here, I apologize in advance.

Answerbag is a collection of user-generated frequently-asked questions that is built and moderated by its community. We are dedicated to making a product that will help society, and we want people with the same passion. We are a small startup looking for a motivated, self-directed information scientist to lead organization of its constantly-growing database of questions and answers.

Rather than give a laundry list of vague qualifications and experiences that we’re looking for, we’ve provided a list of things we want you to do:

  • Audit the site taxonomy, write guidelines for the category structure, and implement recommended changes
  • Help identify and recruit expert moderators for various categories
  • Oversee paid and volunteer moderators
  • Create categorization guide for moderators
  • Help copy edit, moderate, and organize incoming submissions
  • Come up with your own ideas on how to make the site more useful!
Answerbag has been growing steadily for over a year now, and we’re looking for someone who is willing to work for company ownership or a split of salary and ownership. Our workplace is virtual, so you may work from home. We will need you part-time initially, but as the site grows, so will the time requirements, so this will likely become a full-time position.

To apply, please send your resume to joel@answerbag.com with a cover letter explaining why you want this position and what you’ve done that would indicate you can tackle this role.
