I sumbitted my site fro the first time about three months ago. I was wondering if you could tell me the status. It would help a lot. If it was rejected I hope to know why and if it's waiting in a queue, I don't want to make a pest of myself by resubmitting it.

Site status check, also, is there a slush pile?

Hi,
I am doing my monthly status check to see if my site got reviewed yet. Also, I was wondering if your editorial review system is similar to the book industry, in which case I can't help but wonder if there is a slush pile of sites no one cares to review or look through in the near future. It's a scary thought. Any light shed to dispel it would be appreciated.

What a wonderful description...I might start using that myself if you do not hold a copyright on it. It is apt, because we clear some piles of slush in a few hours, some sit around for more than two years.

There are a lot of slush piles, particularly in shopping and in business. Regional is much less slushy. I see that you are located in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Do you have a storefront or a set of offices there? If so, you might qualify for a listing in that part of the directory as well. Regional listings are handled spearately from topical listings, so I would consider submitting to Regional/North_America/United_States/Colorado/Localities/F/Fort_Collins/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/ if you have a storefront or Regional/North_America/United_States/Colorado/Localities/F/Fort_Collins/Business_and_Economy if you have offices and employ a number of people. A single regional submission won't get you labeled as a spammer, and might result in an additional listing for you.

As far as your shopping submission goes, other than removing duplicate submissions in November and again in December, there is no sign of movement.

You might want to consider doing your status checks quarterly. Shopping cats are usually quite backed up, and the quarterly checks are less stressful (for you) than the monthly ones. You are, however, free to still do monthly ones so long as doing so does not adversely impact your blood pressure.

So where's the room for competition?

If all Websites have to be unique, where's the place for competition? My books are more reasonably priced than most others I have seen. I also give out free identity kits for kids, I think that makes it a little unique don't you think?
I have also just revamped my website with more information and illustration about personalized books since a surprising number of people aren't aware of what they are. Should I resubmit for category change or are there restrictions regarding that?
