Hi Guys.
I know you editors are very busy right now but if you can grab a moment for a status check on our URL http://www.internetholidays.co.uk that was submitted to Regional: Europe: United Kingdom: Travel and Tourism: Travel Guides on a couple of occasions over the past 6 months.

Many Thanks for any update.

Kind Regards

Deleted from unreviewed. Please see affiliates for the reasons why we don't list these kinds of sites.

Out of interest, why did you submit to the UK travel guides category when your site is in no way, shape or form a UK travel guide?

Hi John

Thanks for the quick reply.
The site is a directory of travel sites for uk internet users.
I list only sites that are suitable for UK users traveling from the UK.
Some companies do pay us for advertising but surely this cannot be counted against us as every site users ads for income purposes.
Some companies also use their own coding for traffic purposes, i really do feel aggrieved here as i have strugged with no income to create this website and compete against the big guns.
Could you give me some idea of the offending links?

Thanks Again

Mick

I'm not going to get into specifics, but here's a tip for you to be able to work it out for yourself...

We look for original content on the page - links to other sites do not generally constitute original content, unless supplemented with something that can not be found elsewhere. When those links contain tracking information, and links to other sites, then it appears to be an affiliate link.

Go to your site, and, in your mind, blank out anything which is a link to an affiliate or tracking site, and pure links to other sites.

What you have left is what we would judge to be the content of the site. Editors who reviewed your site determined that there was not enough to justify a listing.

I hope this helps clarify.

Thanks.
Although this is not going to help me.
I have 35,000 uniques per month regulary and even google has asked me to use adsence on the site.
So if i accept, this will make things worse for me. what a mess!!.

Thanks for the feedback, looks like i'm quite simply doomed.

Regards

Mick

Not at all. Put AdSense on your site - with 35,000 uniques per month you'll make a decent income. With that kind of traffic, you're clearly an established site and being listed in dmoz probably wouldn't make much difference to your traffic. Dmoz is in no way the be all and end all to website promotion. All affiliate sites are in exactly the same position as you and plenty make a good income.
