Status Check: http://www.BuyCableTies.com

Could an Editor please check the status of our site submissions in the dmoz systems?

If possible, could you please tell me approximately how many other sites are waiting to be listed (along with our site) in these categories and how long we should expect to wait?

I have read many threads on this site, and though the prospects of a speedy inclusion seem bleak, I am optimistic.

Also, I have noticed that neither category that we submitted to seems to have an editor. The bottom of both state: “Volunteer to edit this category.” What (if anything) does this mean to our prospects of inclusion? ... and is there anything I can or should do to facilitate the inclusion process of http://www.BuyCableTies.com?

Thank you very much for your time.

This system is a great service! :)

The Forum Guidelines, which are up near the top of this forum, marked "READ BEFORE POSTING," request that you wait at least a month before requesting the status of a site.

I suggest waiting until at least September 1, 2003, so that you can ask for status on both submissions. If and when you return, please re-use this thread.

Nothing at all. No category is without an editor. Even if there is no listed editor, any editor listed in categories higher on the branch can edit there, as can any of the more than 200 "editall" or "meta" editors.

and is there anything I can or should do to facilitate the inclusion process of http://www.BuyCableTies.com ?

No. There is no way for a submitter to speed a site's review, and that's not the purpose of this forum. I'm afraid you'll just have to be patient.

Of course, if you think you could be a good editor, and you wouldn't just try to promote your own site, you could try applying for a small (<100 sites) category. More editors sharing the workload could mean that your site might be reviewed more quickly.

Thank you for the speedy reply.

As recommended, I will be back to this thread after September 1st.

Thanks again.

Your site has been listed in the Business category a few days ago (should appear once the public pages update), and it's the only one awaiting review in the Regional category.

<added>Lachenm is right, you should have waited before posting your request. I didn't notice 08/01/2003 meant August 1. For Europeans it's January 8. :ooo: </added>
