Status check: http://www.moneytoschools.com

Hi, I'd be very grateful if you could give me the current status for http://www.moneytoschools.com

I submitted it on 05/09/03 (9th May 2003) to 2 categories  as I was unsure which was the most appropriate - sorry:

1) http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/United_Kingdom/Education/Products_and_Services/

2) http://dmoz.org/Business/Energy_and_Environment/Waste_Management/Recycling/Office_Products/

With hindsight I suspect that this category may be a better match:
http://dmoz.org/Society/Organizations/Nonprofit_Resources/Fundraising/Recycling/
Should I resubmit - or just await an editor's opinion.

I understand that the DMOZ servers are being maintained/updated this week so I won't be expecting a response until after this is complete ;)

Regards, James

Well, you should then probably bump this thread after July 21st, I'm afraid it will be waaay back in the list, judging by the number of people who didn't see or read anything before asking about their site yesterday and today :)

Maybe a popup message or email would of being more practical informing members, thus cutting down the on the site submission status threads continuing. ;)

Actually, being willing and able to read would help!

I'm afraid after a while we will start seeing posts going unanswered simply because it gets tiring informing everyone to read what they should have read in the first place.

Possibly putting the notice on the main or registration page on this site would help? Still doesn't guarantee that it will be read. :(

There are already people that have posted messages like "I read the info but decided to ask anyway". They are probably the sort of people who would read a sign saying "Danger! Unstable cliff" and walk to the edge to take a look.

*bump*

And I guess, from the other postings, that the servers are back and running. Might be an idea for a moderator to update the sticky to confirm this. ;)

Many thanks, James

Servers have been back on for editing for 2 days, but many editors took the week off, as July 21st was the announced date. Some of those that have gone back in early have been trying each function with non-important edits looking for any bugs and problems. You wouldn't want your site to be the very first one edited after the downtime, only for the system to completely eat the submission and leave no record of it ever having been there. No, really you wouldn't.

Editors know that RZ posts from July 14th to 20th will need looking at and answering, so bumping it into the middle of a load of already answered posts may not have been the best idea. Too late now.

The system isn't fully back online yet. You still can't submit a site, suggest an update or apply to be an editor. That will come back on shortly.

The public side should soon be updated for the first time in about 6 or 7 weeks, but there might (or might not) be some initial glitches.

Thanks Giz, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

By the way, the bump was just following tuisp's recommendation. ;)

Apologies for bumping this again, but I haven't yet received any news about my site at all and I'd be very grateful if someone could advise on the status please.

Thanks, James

Approved for listing in the first category and awaiting review in the second.

(If you can't see it yet it's because the public pages are out of synch with the editor pages due to the ongoing server upgrades - current estimates are that it should update within the next couple of weeks.)
