bump.

Sorry. not sure why I seem to be getting overlooked.

Am I off on the dates? I'm pretty sure the submission date was 12/8/04.

Thanks.

There were only 8 hours between your posts, not enough time to presume that your thread has been missed.

The site is awaiting review in that category.

simple question - not requesting a site status update.

simple question about dmoz - please note that i'm not asking about the status of my site.

does the "last update" note at the page bottom of a subcategory accurately reflect that all changes to the subpage have been made and are currently visible, or is it possible that there may be a lag before the changes can actually be seen.

just wondering because i submitted my site to a very quiet area of the dmoz directory that has an editor and the site was last edited today.

have a good weekend, subbu.

Last update means last time there was editor (not necessarily the named editor) activity in the category, which could mean a site being added or changed, one being removed, a new link being added, or an editor testing a URL for some reason. In other words you cannot divine any information from it.

There is a lag between an editor editing a category and this being shown on the public servers. Hours, days, maybe longer, but this would impact the last update flag as well. In other words the activity wasn't anything to do with you and that you can't see ;)

scope of my site has expanded...

hi.

i'm sure you've gotten this question before - just couldn't find it. apologies.

the scope of my site has expanded since i originally submitted it - increased functions and new areas of content related to my topic.

i don't want to "resubmit" the new details - and have my site drop back down to the bottom of the pile.

should i just assume that the editor of the subcategory will *see* that the original descript submitted is dated or is there another way to "update" the descript without losing my spot in the pile?

regards, subbu.

There is not a spot in the pile, there's a speck in the whirlpool.

And the editor is responsible for writing a description -- your suggested one is just a starting point.

I'd let it ride, but it probably doesn't matter much either way.
