Status for http://www.AstrologySoftwareShop.com

Any idea what the status is on the inclusion of http://www.AstrologySoftwareShop.com in the category
Society: Religion and Spirituality: Divination: Astrology: Software ?

This same URL had been submitted 6 months ago but never made it into the directory. It used to be mapped to a sub web of another web site using a fake IP. However, now it has its own unique IP and is no longer a deep link within any other site.

I would appreciate any information.

Re: Status for http://www.AstrologySoftwareShop.co

The site is the same as AstroDatabank which already listed in Society: Religion and Spirituality: Divination: Astrology: Software.

It used to be mapped to a sub web of another web site using a fake IP. However, now it has its own unique IP and is no longer a deep link within any other site.

Creating a "new" URL doesn't change that is the same. According to ODP Guidelines, this second site is not eligible for a listing. Sorry.

Re: Status of http://www.AstrologySoftwareShop.com

Dear Jeff,

I can appreciate how you might come to the conclusion that AstrologySoftwareShop.com is the same as AstroDatabank.com because it used to be a sub-web of AstroDatabank.com. Indeed, AstrologySoftwareShop was born under AstroDatabank but like a child it has “grown up and left the nest.” Today, AstrologySoftwareShop is the largest distributor of astrology software in the world. We sell over 70 astrology software programs and are constantly searching for more quality software to evaluate and add to this list.

AstroDatabank remains the most popular website for serious students of astrology to get and discuss charts of the latest newsmakers. I would like to recommend moving it to the “Chats and Forums” section.

The only overlapping or similar content you may find on the two sites is the evaluation of the AstroDatabank astrology software. Other than this, the two websites have completely different content and objectives.

Here are my recommended descriptions of each of the sites:
AstroDatabank – Best source for charts of latest newsmakers and astrology research articles as well as focused discussions.
AstrologySoftwareShop - Extensive selection of astrology software for charting (e.g. Solar Fire, Matrix, Jyotish) and producing astrology reports. Articles and personal guidance in choosing among programs.

I would request you to visit both sites and evaluate each site once again.

Re: Status of http://www.AstrologySoftwareShop.com

Dear Mark,

Please read the forum guidelines. Noting the part about "If your site has been rejected, please keep in mind that arguing about the editorial decision will not be tolerated."

This forum is not intended to be a platform to debate the merits of a site and why it should be included. You asked about status and I answered. An editor familiar with the area and product has reviewed both sites and has rejected AstrologySoftwareShop for identical content.

AstroDatabank remains the most popular website for serious students of astrology to get and discuss charts of the latest newsmakers. I would like to recommend moving it to the “Chats and Forums” section.

As far as changing current locations of sites, please follow the update guidelines. This forum is intended to check status not to get a submission, category change or anything else done faster or before those who have submitted sites in the usual fashion.

I again request you read the guidelines. Please note "Good descriptions are concise, informative, and objective, to let end-users know what they will find when they visit a web site." And "...do not read like online advertisements and sales pitches. Avoid superlatives such as "best" "most" "greatest" "cheapest." The ODP does not advertise web sites, and such terms are irrelevant to users."

Sorry, I'm sure this is not the answer you were looking for, but what you are requesting now is beyond the scope and purpose of this forum.

Best regards,
Jeff
