I see no change in status.

You man ask again in this thread in another six months.

That would make it about 15 months since I posted. Must be a very busy category I imagine, but is that normal...just asking.

Probably most suggestions are reviewed faster. You won't read much about them here. Problem cases are discussed, but few webmasters come here to say: Wow, my site was listed just a few days after my submission.

We don't say it will take another six months. Maybe tomorrow an editor will take some time to look through some of the site suggestions in that category, and maybe one of them is yours. On the other hand, we unfortunately can't guarantee a certain timeframe for review. Maybe in six months' time nothing will have changed. We can't predict that.

The category that you have submitted to certainly isn't lacking site suggestions, so it is quite busy.

Thanks very much for clarifying that for me I was confused thinking another 6 months might be a little long and at the same time I was trying to weigh the work load in the category.

One of the many ways in which spammers drag down the whole economy is this: their spammy submittals fill up queues, taking time and effort to weed out, and also reducing the value of editors' work in the queues (thus causing editors to go elsewhere to edit).

Both effects cause delays for legitimate businesses that create and submit sites.

If the spam load weren't there, the queues would be (I estimate) about 95% shorter than they are -- and waits between suggestion and review would be commensurately reduced.

This effect is especially concentrated in certain categories, and yes, this category is one of those.

If you want practical advice: assume the site won't be reviewed in the next year, and make your business and advertising plans accordingly. If you do that, a surprise visit from an ODP editor won't hurt you.
