There are two possibilities: one -- there is no submittal to be found. two -- the submittal was found but you abused the forum policies to ask about it before your month was up.

If we told people which possibility it was, any jerk could get an early status just by posting a request that should not have been answered directly, but noticing how we responded. We have enough trouble enforcing the rules already.

That makes people whose submittal was lost, wait an extra month. Consider it just one more of the costs that rude spammers impose on all of society.

so because i started a new thread 3 months after the original i am to wait another month??

or is the (i'm sure you can work it out) for some other reason...

Maybe you should read the forum guidelines again and than dig into your memory to find out what you did last 3 months.

i have re-read them

as far as i can see i have abused them twice now

1. march 25th i asked for a status but was refused because i had not waited 1 calender month...

so i waited 2 months...

2. today 17th march i started a new thread to ask for status, i should not have started a new thread... So i edited it to remove my site etc and posted a reply in this one...

That is certainly not the reason

i am not trying to suggest i am in the right here but i have taken on board your advice and am still unclear....

There can be 2 reasons why we don't have the information
1) the site was last suggested less than one month ago
2) the suggestion was not recieved
From experience my guess is nr 1

If you are 200% sure about that you should suggest the site again and ask for a status in 1 month time.
But first read the DMOZ guidelines. We will not list a site that is under construction.
From your site "Please note... This site is currently not ready to be used... If you have any questions you can email me here" , this line of text will result in a direct rejection. Certainly when I see all the things that should be links but aren't.
Why did you waist so much of yours and our time by suggesting an UC site and ask about the status. In the same time we could have reviewed some sites that are worth looking at.

I somehow managed to omit April from my elapsed time calculations.

Your suggestion of 15th February to Shopping/Visual_Arts/Photography/Exhibits/Artistic is awaiting review. We can't predict when that might be. If it hasn't been listed in 6 months from today, please ask again in this same thread.
