Dear Editor,

I asked the status of http://www.green-acre.com submitted to:
http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/Fra...my/Real_Estate/

This was on http://resource-zone.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20799&goto=nextnewest and the answer was "listed".

I replied that the site is not listed in DMOZ as it does not appear in that category nor in any other.

I did not received any answer to that question so I have been waiting for 3 months to come back here as I do not want to abuse. But an answer would be really great!

Many thanks for your help (or any information!)

Under which url ? I tested the complete directory http://dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/France/Business_and_Economy/Real_Estate/ and none of them let to the site.

The only other url to my knowledge of this site is http://www.green-acres.com (with an s at acre) but this one is not listed too. (I am the webmaster and owner of the site)

The french version of the site is listed (http://www.immofrance.com), but http://dmoz.org/guidelines/site-specific.html#multi-lingual explains that I can do a submission for each site.
(We present french property for sale in french on http://www.immofrance.com and translated into english by a translator on http://www.green-acre.com)

Some competitors have a very closed name (we have nothing to do with immofranceportal.com for example and the sites have nothing in commun see http://www.immofranceportail.com/), it might have led to this situation ?

Thanks again and just tell me if you consider I am abusing, I will stop posting.

"Online" != "available". I keep a browser window open probably 12+ hours a day, but some of that time is occupied with earning a living, etc. And part of that time is a company internet connection with its own set of safety rules (which are critical, since most people use the IE.)

There's no reason immofrance couldn't be considered for a listing in an English-language category. The fact that the English text is on a different domain may raise questions, but so long as we can answer them from reviewing the two sites, it won't necessarily be a bar to listing.

Well let's try to clarify : "immofrance" is a contraction of "immobilier France" which in french means "real estate france". As "immo" does not means anything in english and we have lot of english visitors, we took a new brand (if you have a domain name that works both in english and french and that is still available in .com I take it! :) )

So we took green-acre.com and we are currently switching to green-acres.com (with an "s") as we managed to buy it recently.

Is it still possible to switch the submission to http://www.green-acres.com instead of http://www.green-acre.com? (things are changing in 6 months  )

I will stop posting and wait the 6 months now that I have this first status. Many thanks for looking at my precedent requests.

I understand why you might want to do it. But that doesn't really matter -- it's your site and you can do it however you want. It's just that for our purposes we much prefer to list just one site (and that the primary one) for a corporation. So long as surfers can easily figure out what that is, we don't care about the rest. (Now, if we can't figure that out from the site, it's obviously not enough informational content to list...which is no problem for us.)
