How much longer do you think?

I submitted the site the first time about 5-6 months ago. Thanks, Tom

Help - www.nutritiongeeks.com

 I posted a request for our site back in January and was replied with a message that the site was currently being reviewed. We are still not on the directory. I first submitted our site to DMOZ in I think Aug of last year. Is this normal? Please list our site. It is a very large nutrition site that is hand updated daily. We are very relevant within our industry. Thanks, Tom

Please re-read that January status; you misunderstood it the first time 'round. You're welcome to get a fresh status check in August (or six months after the last status check).

We don't take requests for priority reviews here. If we did -- if any large number of people even THOUGHT we did -- the forum would be swamped within nanoseconds.

Didn't think to look for a six month wait rule...

I know this is all volunteer, but six months is an eternity on the internet. And we have been waiting since August of last year. I don’t need to tell you that you guys have a lot of power, both by submitting and not submitting a site. Google PR is affected and many third party links are created. We have a very professional site with over 1,500 products and every product page is hand coded for the most part. Please take the time to review our site. Many sites have come and gone in the time since we’ve submitted to be listed.

Although I fully understand where you are coming from, it is not the interest of the ODP to further the page rank or worry about the commercialization of any website. The category that your site is awaiting for review in is fairly large and there is no way of telling when an editor in that category (or above) will review any particular site. It may take 10 minutes or 2 years. In any case, you are welcome to ask for another status check in aug, 2005. :)

Please read our FAQ.
1) The 6 month wait between status request has totaly no relation with the time it will take before your suggestion will be reviewed.
2) I no way will any thread or question at R-Z influence the time before your sugestion will be reviewed.

Many sites have come and gone in the time since we’ve submitted to be listed.
And probably even more will have come and gone before the suggestion will be reviewed. Only we can not predict how many more. Nor can we predict when the review will be done.

In this forum you can only ask for the status of your suggestion every 6 months. Personly I don't know why you should ask. You suggested the site and that is all you can do.

Please do not ask for special privileges in these threads. The people who do NOT ask, and yet have submitted websites -- have helped us just as much, and taken less of our time doing it. Do they deserve to be pushed to the back of the line because of inadequate importunity?

They do NOT.
