In the body of your post, include a clickable link to the dmoz.org category you submitted to. The simplest way to do this is to copy and paste the ODP category you submitted to (i.e. http://dmoz.org/....).

Question about re-submitting?

Our website has been in the "waiting to be reviewed" list for quite some time now. I have a question? Would it be a good idea to submit in a different catagory? Do some catagories just have way too many submissions? Our website offers a variety of medical equipment and supplies. Our products could fit into multiple smaller catagories in DMOZ. Would it be better to re-submit to a smaller catagory? Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

Many categories have too many submissions, but submitting to the wrong category in an attempt to get someone to review your site is a very bad idea. Looking at editor name's on categories and trying to figure out which category is best, based on an editor name is also a bad idea. If found in the wrong category an editor may have to move it to the correct place, which is presumably where your site is waiting now. That means there will be two copies of your site and one has to be removed

Apart from wasting an editor's time doing this, it increase the likelihood of both of your submissions being deleted, and even if that does not happen, the later copy will be retained, causing you to end up at the end of the line, if an editor reviews in date order.

You can additionally suggest your site to the Regional branch in your locality category (Business and Economy sub-category if it has one) if you have a bricks and mortar presence there. A Regional suggestion has no effect on a Business suggestion and vice versa. No guarantees of acceptance though, as per the guidelines.

No.
As you know you must wait a minimum of 6 months between status requests.
