Queue size is over 600 for that category and all its subcats. I don't have edit rights there so can't be more specific, but I'd imagine that submissions to that category are processed fairly slowly - and you could have a long wait.

I would point out that your shop is already listed under your company name of: Inspiration Spa.
http://inspirationspa.com/ some of which links through to the foreverskincare shopping site.

in:

http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/Canada/British_Columbia/Localities/R/Richmond/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/

You should not really submit the same business under 2 different urls, as amongst other things, it looks like you are trying to deceive editors into listing the same business twice. This may or may not be fair in your case.

IMHO the foreverskincare site is much more highly polished than the inspirationspa one. With this in mind, you might consider posting an update request to the Richmond category you are listed in requesting that the url be changed to the better site.

Meanwhile, you'll probably just have to be patient with the Shopping listing :-(

You are waiting with about 300 other sites in the Shopping/Health/Beauty category - as Andy mentioned, there are several hundred sites waiting for review in the various subcategories. I don't edit in Shopping either, but I think Andy is probably right, that you will not be eligible for a Shopping listing as well as the one you already have. But that's for the reviewing editor to decide. At least now you know that you're in the pool of unreviewed, and you don't have to resubmit.

one true listing

thank you both for your swift assistance -- was surprised to read your msg Andy, didn't recall anyone ever submitting Inspiration Spa to http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/Canada/British_Columbia/Localities/R/Richmond/Business_and_Economy/Shopping/ -- nothing's listed there right now (2003-11-24 23:05 utc), except 4 subcategories of 1 each (not in there either) -- has something changed since you posted?

in this case Forever Skin Care is a mailorder cosmetics co with multiple regional offices, owned by a separate business, a one-location esthetics salon that does facials, nails, etc. -- basically identical to a preponderance of others in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Beauty/Skin_Care/ e.g. http://essentialdayspa.com thus its choice as appropriate category. if the spa being listed (queued? missing? weird) in the regional category is going to screw the mailorder folk out of a listing, would it IYO be a waste of time hoping to remove one in favour of the other?

lastly, does anyone know if there are guidelines for editors to follow regarding subsidiary organizations, or is each editor's opinion the determinant of what's 'separate enough'? do separate and unique content sites disqualify for their own listing if the editor suspects a common author or organizational unit? (e.g. would an editor be within his purview to nix PeoplePC for Earthlink, ABC for Disney, Mazda for Ford, etc, and if not, what's the rule?). i.e. is there any standard, structure- or content-wise, that an editor might typically take as assurance they're not being spammed?

thanks so much once again for your time.

No, that would be editor's judgment. Examples like Ford Aerospace/Tractors/Lotus/Mazda, etc., are very obvious. So are cases like the jerk who boasted he (personally) had forty-nine online businesses (and wanted them all listed.)

We'd consider size, organizational independence, personnel and locational independence, taxonomic independence, and other factors.

For a small local business that offered cosmetic products and services onsite, and mail-order cosmetic products, ... that looks like one website to me. That one website might be considered for listing in Shopping and Regional both...if it were spread over two different domains, the editor's spam-sensors should be flashing, and they should look VERY carefully before giving two listings.

Oops my bad, I copied and pasted the wrong url!- it's listed under:
Regional/North_America/Canada/British_Columbia/Localities/R/Richmond/Business_and_Economy/Health_and_Beauty/

It should be under Shopping/Health and Beauty (e.g. Health and Beauty is normally a subcat of Shopping, not a subcat directly under Business_and_Economy) though which is why I was confused, the category structure there isn't completely standard :)

But it is listed!

Sorry for any confusion.

Andy
