In an attempt to not step on anyone's toes and annoy you with submissions, I thought it would be benificial to ask for advice/help in regards to this. Ive been trying for over a year to submit, but have yet to realize there was a forum.....

http://www.1fast400.com

Anyway, Ive tried a few categories, and most recently:
Shopping/Health/Nutrition/Retailers/Specialty_Shops

For the last few months, I am not sure what has been wrong, as the site has a lot of original content articles and bulk nutritional powders that are in high demands, yet available no where else on the internet. If an editor would be so kind as to suggest a better method of submission, or rather tell me if this site is simply, as is, not eligible for submission in the ODP. Thanks a lot.

(Hopefully its just waiting, rather than rejected, but Ive submitted a lot over the last year, so any word is appreciate. Thanks guys. :))

Still waiting for review, with perhaps a dozen other sites.

The dietary supplements categories are plagued by affiliate programs as well as other kinds of doorway spam, so reviews of legitimate sites generally don't happen quickly.
Affiliate sites may sometimes get processed quickly, if the editor recognizes the tell-tale signs and wants to get them out of the way. But the mere absence of the tell-tales doesn't get a list listed immediately -- we still have to look for unique content. So LISTING (as opposed to REJECTING) is something we do cautiously.

And even though THIS category has a short queue, there are many other dietary supplement retailers in other nearby categories....

The good news is, if the editor spots your unique content, the decision suddenly becomes a quick-accept UNLESS there are TTS visible. Make sure it's prominently featured in your site's navigation.

Thanks for your time...

I know it was just thrown in but in light of past attempts, I just had to make sure. IMHO, its a legit site that fits the guidelines well, so Ill just sit back and wait. I also hope Ill get a notice if its rejected so I can make neccessary changes.

I appreciate this fine service you offer to the web!

Now I CAN pretty well guarantee THAT won't happen.

Asking again in two or three months here, is the only way 99.9% of sites will ever hear about a rejection status.

Anyway, since you said if they spoted the unique content, that it be a quick include. Since I believe the content that is pretty well sought after and unique to this store is easily enough found, Im just checking on the status. Please forgive my impatience. I would just rather resubmit again, rather than wait if it has been rejected. Thanks!

Sorry bout another bump, but this seemed to slide by your attention. Im willing to resubmit, obviously, but just am needing to know if its neccessary. I definately think this site is absolutely worthy of being listed by all regards (unique content, etc), and as you said, should of been a quick include.

Its a tad bit frustrating submitting sites. It doesn't seem like the categories around there, and many moderated by bigdan, have had any inclusions in many months. OTOH, there are quite a few deadlinks Ive informed them about.

A bit discouraging to me when there is a plethora of sites Ive tried and am going to try to get listed on DMOZ. A couple have made in through in the last year, but it is all dependent upon who controls the categories, and for what reasons they do so. I must say, some categories are stellar though.

It isn't that it 'slipped' by. The forum guidelines ask that you wait at least one month between status checks.

Your site will not be considered for inclusion until an editor reviews it, regardless of the content quality. Hutcheson was stating the differences between apparent affiliates and content-rich sites, and to be sure your site is the latter.

So please re-use this thread on or after 07/11/03.

Any status updates on this site? Denied? Should I submit again to another category? Thanks for your time.

It appears your site has suffered from the submitted too many times syndrome. You had so many duplicate submissions that had to be deleted the one they were trying to leave for review accidently got deleted. So you are currently not awaiting review.

OK, now here is what you do, submit ONE MORE TIME ONLY to

http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Health/Nutrition/Retailers/Specialty_Shops/

Do NOT submit to another category. Do NOT resubmit monthly or anything like that. You can check back here to make sure we got it.

There are under 10 unreviewed in that category so its not like you lost your place in line or anything.

Thanks for responding. Much appreciated. Now thats frustrating. :) For once I opted on patience and I gotta assume someone else on this internet submitted it, as it is becoming more popular all the time. Back to the drawing board. :) Ill give it another try.

What happened, happens (my estimate is only about 1% of the time, which is still several dozen sites per day!

That's one reason why the submittal policies say to submit...wait...submit again (ONCE). The second submittal is in case the first got deleted accidentally. The absence of a third submittal is so as not to give the editor a whole block of spam to chainsaw through -- and of course chainsaws are valuable tools, but not ideal for filigreework.

That's also one of the reasons we have this forum. Humans do it better, but not perfectly.
