After being listed since the inception of the ODP, my site was removed. I was told it contained no site owned chat rooms. I then spent thousands of dollars and created a coldfusion chat system that has 4 adult chat rooms. Then I was told it was deep linked and nothing more than an affiliate site. I have one affiliate per page and its the same company and my onsite chatters use 50 gigs of bandwidth per month.
Could someone please tell me what I have to do to get listed and if there is no hope please tell me as I have submitted over and over since being dropped.
Adult Chat World
Thank you for your consideration and if you don't accept me back, thanks for the years you listed me. I really have tried hard to adhere to the ODP guidelines and I am afraid that a SEO company that I hired to help me has gotten my site banned. I really would like to know why I am not accepted

Well, at the moment the main "problem" is that the site is still waiting to be reviewed in Adult/Computers/Internet/Chats_and_Forums. Sorry to say, but to me this does not look like a category that attracts loads of editors to spend their time to review site suggestions.

(Its history could become a problem, of course - it could lead to an editor only looking at the site very short, thinking "oh, him again" and rejecting the suggestion. In theory this should not happen... But it is like my e-mail inbox: When I first installed a spam-filter, I checked every single mail (~2 per day) if there were false positives. Now it filters out ~50 a day and I don't care anymore if there are false positives in there.)

Thank you windharp very much. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to make them aware of the changes and not think of the past when I was using public chat rooms. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have arranged that any editor reviewing the url will see a reference to this thread.

Just for my own curiosity could you please point me to the parts of the site that you have built. Every link I click on seems to take me to another web site. Do you also own this http://www.chat-it-up.com network? I'm a bit confused here. Is this just one page with some links to other people's web sites or are all of these web sites yours too? Do you also own the sites listed near the bottom of the page? http://www.lesbian-chat-world.com/ and http://www.geocities.com/au_bra/

I own , built and paid for Chat-It-Up.com. It is the predominant area on my site for my regulars. Chat-It-Up has a different web address because its coldfusion and Earthlink who hosts Adult Chat World does not handle coldfusion therefore I had to create another site that does. I can assure you I have adult chat owned by me all over the site. My users use over 50 gigs of bandwidth per month.
I also own and just started Lesbian Chat World in late August for the females that wanted a private area. If you notice this site has things for ladies only including nuptial agreements. Its an all woman site. The Geocities was built years ago when I first started and I have never tried to promote it. The main site is Adult Chat World but I do own them all. If the Geocities site is in the ODP I have no problem with deleting it because my main site is Adult Chat World.
I have built the sites with help from a coldfusion expert for the site owned chat rooms.

I was just curious. From this side of the browser http://www.adult-chat-world.com/ looks like a page that links to other web sites. It's hard to tell that's it's all one big package. I very rarely edit in the Adult categories so for me it was just curiosity.

I have corrected the site to show that my chat is now only showing Adult Chat World which I own and paid for. Perhaps it will be much clearer now.

I don't think it is of any interest which text is shown on your site, what you are doing is hiding the real destination of the links (also called blind or misleading links).
What is of interest to ODP is the location of the content. All content seems to be at http://www.chat-it-up.com/ . Just my :2cents: adult-chat-world shouldn't be listed but chat-it-op could be listed.

Chat-It-Up.com was created by Adult Chat World and only because Earthlink, the host, does not handle coldfusion. I will quit Earthlink and eliminate Chat-It-Up so there is no confusion. The only reason there are 2 names is because Earthlink could not handle the chat I paid and built and that was after the fact. Earthlink told me they could handle coldfusion. I will eliminate Chat-It-Up in the next few days when I find a host that can handle coldfusion. I never intended any blind or misleading links. I only tried to add my own paid for live chat and most of the chats listed are hosted by other people. A case in point is all those chats listed that use Digi-Chat. None of those chats are owned by the sites listed but, rather paid for and hosted by the chat creator. My chat is unique but I will get it right for the ODP. Thanks for the advice.

Chat-It-Up no longer exists. It is now incorporated in Adult Chat World and the site is now empty. Perhaps now the confusion will be gone since Adult Chat World owns the software for the coldfusion chat and its now devoid of any links to Chat-It-Up.

Not technically true :) http://www.chat-it-up.com/ still exists, and you still do use the applets on there. Just because the links are transparent to the user, it doesn't mean that they aren't there.

This is why we are sometimes a tad negative towards these types of set-ups. It's a very convoluted web of URLs and links and it's sometimes hard to tell where the real web site is. It makes it look like it's some type of affiliate program instead of being a straight-forward web site.

I am in the process of transferring the entire site to a host that will handle both the coldfusion and the rest of the site. The chat will be on the Adult Chat World page and hosted by the same company. It will take a few days to propogate after I find the host.

Adult Chat World is completed. There is no Chat It Up any more. It is deleted from the internet. Everything is site contained now as far as content goes.
Thanks for your tips, I will just wait and see if I make it into the ODP again.
I would appreciate knowing if I am accepted and if not, I tried real hard. :)
Thanks for listing me for all these years and I really hope I now qualify.
