Status: http://www.djewels.com - Change Category

Hello The following site:
http://www.dyjewels.com/

... is in this category:
http://directory.google.com/Top/Shopping/Jewelry/Precious_Metals/Gold/

... however, I no longer just sell gold jewelry. Diamond jewelry now the main focus of the business. So I would like my site to be in a more general category of jewelry stores, such as this:
http://directory.google.com/Top/Shopping/Jewelry/

This is the category all the site similar to mine currently occupy. I have made several attempts to get it changed, but nothing has helped. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Could someone *please* comment on this site? What am I doing wrong?

Reading some other posts, ie:
http://www.resource-zone.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=status&Number=8842&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1
... I hope dyjewels.com is not being overlooked just because the category is "full" or too large. In my humble opinion, dyjewels.com is at least a top 20 jewelry website, if not top 30 or 40. I can't see how it can not be allowed in this category simply because it is "full" or too big because it has over 100 sites --- most of which are not at the same "level" as DY Jewels (again, my humble opinion). And DY Jewels sells internationally in multiple currencies unlike many other sites in the main category, and has been online for nearly 3 yrs now.

If the site is being overlooked just because the directory is too "full" then perhaps you guys should consider breaking it up alphabetically or something. "A" directory, "B" directory, etc.

On a side note, are there any single female editalls 20-25? Seems like the only way in is to marry into power j/k

Your update (i.e. move) request in http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Jewelry/Precious_Metals/Gold/ is waiting for an editor to pass by and review it - updates are handled as normal submissions, marked as Updates so editors can easily spot them. There is a slight backlog in the category, so I assume it'll take a while.

Please keep to this way - processing single entries by forum request is quite timeconsuming - Thanks.

I've been patiently waiting for nearly 2 months now and nothing

I've seen the main shopping/jewelry cat updated about 5-6x now, and I'm sure it's been updated more times than I can recall seeing, but I'm still not included?? Even Yahoo mananged to change my cat for me for a more relevant location.

Should I resubmit? Is the site banned? I don't just sell gold jewelry anymore, and should be included in the main shopping/jewelry cat with all my larger competitors.... I just don't get it.

>> I just don't get it.

Please, consider that when windharp said "there is a slight backlog in the category" it was a gentle way to say hundreds of submitted sites pending review. Unfortunately, this is a target area for a lot of spammy/inappropriate submissions (where money is, spam lives), and legit sites may sometimes have to wait while we work through the queue.

In any case -- and whereas I'm not a female editall and I'm already married, thanks for the offer -- an update request is somewhat easier to process, thus your site was moved a few minutes ago.

Thank you so much, I wasn't sure how much longer I could patiently wait

Have a wonderful 2003!
