Respectfully request site submission status of Executive Visions Inc. in category:

My 1st Submission on August 23, 2002, and last query was about 5 months ago. I did recently re-submitted on 10-9-03 as follows:

TITLE: Executive Visions Inc. Event Production

DESCRIPTION: Event producer & event production company providing strategy, design, planning, production & staging of corporate concerts, broadcast, celebrity entertainment events, meetings, award shows, product launches, training, branded communications & multi-media.

I would be very grateful if somebody could please give me an update on my submission.

He means there's a strange bug that is keeping this thread from appearing where it should in the list of recent threads (that's what he meant about you getting buried). There is no competitor keeping you out of the directory and nothing else you can do except come back here every month (or better yet every couple of months) to check on the status. I'd recommend you start a new thread next time as this one just doesn't seem to be behaving right -- ordinarily, we ask people to keep using the same thread but in this case, this thread isn't really working properly.

No. The information jswafford already provided in his two preceding posts was correct. And, by the way, a "Business/" branch listing is not a "national" listing -- it is a listing based on topic, for sites that are not strictly regional in interest. Sites from all over the world can qualify for topical listings.

To be sure, you are saying it won't hurt our chances for a topic listing if we submit for a regional listing, correct? I just wanted to be sure since we are not a topic that strictly regional in interest.

We have a mantra, "Once in topical, once in Regional" - it's not a hard and fast rule. Not everything would fit in a Regional category. Some regional sites would never make it in topical. However, many, many sites get listed both in a topical category and in a regional one.

Getting listed in Regional should not hurt your chances of getting listed in a topical category.

No, we list in the locality where the business is physically located (or in special circumstances which do not apply here, in some broader geographic region (Georgia, North America, etc.) It is to Norcross that employees show up for work, bailiffs show up to deliver subpoenas, yard card services bring flamingos, etc. That's the local connection. We wouldn't list in a locality where the business isn't.

Thank you so much, jswafford, for your sugesstion to go for the regional 1st, we finally got listed! Now I need to try for the topical listing since our site is not strictly regional in interest. Thanks again to you, sole, hutcheson, lachenm, and motsa! :) By the way could you suggest how to request the word "event" added our description...since that is the main thing we do.

Sorry but it doesn't need to be added. We look at the description as including the category path, so Regional/North_America/United_States/Georgia/Localities/N/Norcross/Business_and_Economy/Event_Planning - Executive Visions Inc. - Provides strategy, design, planning, and staging of corporate communications, training, concerts, broadcasts, celebrity entertainment, meetings, and award shows. Includes services, projects, and contact details.
is the full description. "Event" is there as part of 'Event_Planning'.

Your site is awaiting review with several hundred others.

Due to the large backlog in this area, I'd suggest saving yourself some time and effort by waiting at least three months before requesting a status update.
