Status http://www.flamingoed.com

I am trying to find a home for this site. It was rejected from a regional listing because it is a branch of another company that already has a listing.

I have submitted to http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Gifts/Gag_Gifts/ and believe it has likely been rejected from that category as well.

I am considering submitting to
http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Humor/Pranks/ but I don't really think that fits either.

This is a site about lawn greetings- filling someone's yard with pink flamingos and a sign in the middle of the night. There is only one other lawn greeting company in the directory and it has a regional listing.

My site has a directory of around 40 lawn greeting companies on it- would it be likely that a new category could be added for this fast-growing business?

If not, can anyone suggest a category? Pranks is the closest I can come but I don't want to be seen as spamming the directory; I don't want to submit there unless I know the gag gift cat has denied it.

Any help appreciated! <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

Rejected, and not likely to be accepted anywhere. Please don't submit it any more, the main company already has a listing.

I think it is unfortunate that who owns a site is more important than the content. A person looking to order a lawn greeting would not click on a moonwalk rental site to find it.

This industry is not represented in your directory except by a single company with a regional listing.

I do not feel that the site has been considered on its own merit, simply had the "same company" rule applied without looking at the content. If I had not made it obvious that they both belonged to the same owner, as their services are completely unique, I believe both would have been promptly listed. I guess that is the message the ODP wants to send.

I will not submit again. Thank you for your response.
