status: http://www.meta4creations.com

Hey guys,
I was hoping someone could check the status of this site for me. It originally started as a personal weblog, and has turned into a full fledged business. The site is currently listed under personal weblogs, but I basically do search engine optimization as a full-time business now.

I submitted a request a month or so ago, and resubmitted today to the http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Web_Design_and_Development/Promotion/Search_Engine_Optimization_Firms/M/ cat.

I can understand that this is a pretty spammy area, so I was hoping someone could check it out for me.

Thanks in advance.

It is waiting in that category with less than a dozen sites. The submission date is 05/Jun/2003 12:59:11 MDT, which makes it appear it was never submitted earlier than that. Every time you resubmit, it overwrites the old information. If an editor sorts by date (which is how I do it, but others use different methods), each time you resubmit you are then sending your site to the end of the line. It appears you are a new editor (congratulations) and own this site, you can bookmark the site and check the status by checking the editor notes. It is always a good practice to declare personal sites in your bookmarks. I would also encourage you to go to Member to Editor III to change your status on this board. <img src="/images/icons/cool.gif" alt="" />

Kokopeli,

Thanks for your reply. I have posted in regards to having my status changed, and I have really enjoyed being an editor so far. I wish I had more time to dedicate to it of course, but it is such a cool community around here.

In the SEO world, (specifically the webmasterworld.com forums) DMOZ gets some nasty criticisms sometimes. When I see it, I try to always point them here, because I have ALWAYS received very timely courteous responses here.

Thanks for looking into the site. I will add it to my bookmarks as well. Have a great one.

Not right now - we ask you to wait at least a month between requests.

If you are an editor, why don't you put that site in your bookmarks so you can monitor the editor logs? then you will be able to look as often as you want to.

I had forgotten about the month rule. My apologies. Will someone give it a look now, and any hope of it getting changed? Thanks in advance.:)

It is still in the works under that url, it is also currently listed in

Computers: Internet: On the Web: Weblogs: Personal: M and Regional: North America: United States: Michigan: Localities: F: Frankenmuth: Business and Economy

It is unlikely it will be given a third listing, but as I am not familiar with the computer area of the directory (also I did not view this site) I won't comment further. It is still awaiting review :D

It has actually been removed from the personal weblogs category, as it doesn't fit in there any longer - as Todd remarked in his first posting, it's a business web site now.

Just for your info :)

Thanks for checking into it. Thank you for removing it from the personal weblog page Nea. I figured the new cat is probably pretty heavily spammed, so I will continue to watch and check back on occasion.

Can someone please look into this again? I am trying to be patient, but it has been over four months since I requested this be moved. Please?

Someone with the correct permissions will look at it and give you an update. I just want to make sure that you understand that, in the grand scheme of things, after four months a suggested URL has barely begun to gather dust. Waits in excess of a year are not uncommon, particuarly in "spammy" areas of the directory.

As you are an editor, you can see what happens to your site. You have already added it to your Bookmarks; click on "edit" to see.

You can see the total number waiting for review in that category by creating an @-link to it in your Bookmarks category.

Thanks guys. I just get frustrated about it sometimes. Quality links play a large part of my livelihood doing website design and search engine promotion for a living. ODP editors, in general, do a great job and I think it is an incredible project and I appreciate the amount of work involved.
