I am sorry to encroach on your time, but I am wondering about the submission status for our site, http://www.intelli-collect.com.

If memory serves correct (be forewarned that I am getting more senior moments lately ), I believe that I submitted the site several months ago under the following category:

http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Financial_Services/Merchant_Services/Card_Processing/

Any feedback regarding our long lost site will be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time and consideration in this matter!

Although this is very disappointing news, I thank you for letting me know.

John, I have read the guidelines and have no insight as to why this decision has been rendered. Are you at liberty to tell me the specifics? We have certainly not committed any transgression and want to mention that we are not an affiliate, but a direct solutions provider of payment processing services. (Many of the companies listed in the merchant services field are ISO's or direct agents of banks as well.)

Moreover, I feel that our site is all-encompassing with lots of information on each service and we even offer a free e-book on the topic of payment processing.

Please understand that I respect your decision, but need clarification. I will make any changes on the site necessary, but I am unsure as to what to do.

Nobody said anything about a transgression, and I see no sign of one in a cursory glance at your site. An editor with experience in this area determined that you were reselling a service that was available more directly on another site. We don't find anything wrong with your doing this, we're just not inclined to list such sites.

Since it's not a design issue, there are no changes I can suggest you make to correct it.

As the majority of the busineses listed in this category are reselling services in the payment processing field (and even many true banks fall into this category), I still find it disheartening to be excluded -- especially since our content seems to compare favorably with competitors' sites.

Upon closer inspection, perhaps I should have listed the site under a different category! Perhaps the following category is more applicable:

http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Financial_Services/Merchant_Services/Sales_Agents.

Would it be possible to resubmit the site to that category? Alternatively, I can list it under http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Financial_Services/Merchant_Services/Check_Processing/ where there are less companies listed and as we have our own unique service in conjunction with reselling others' services?

I certainly appreciate your guidance and direction!

I'm no expert in this area so I can't speak for the chances of a listing, but I see no harm in suggesting your site for the sales agents category.

[added] I mean for the appropriate letter subcategory, of course.

As our site offers a full array of services in the credit card processing industry and goes into detail on each service, I certainly hope that we get a favorable response from the ODP Editor.
