Hi, I have submitted my website http://www.notebookspecials.com to the http://dmoz.org/Computers/Hardware/Used/
category over 6 weeks ago, just wanted to know the status of the submission. Thank you I really appreciate this service.

Thanks for that site suggestion, which we're showing as received on July 25. If it was submitted six weeks ago, the later one must have overwritten the older.

Anyway, it awaits review in that category along with, I'm sorry to say, hundreds of others.

Because of the backlog, you may want to wait several months before inquiring again. Should you do so, please reuse this thread rather than starting a new one.

Nothing new unfortunately. There are about three hundred sites waiting for review in that category. Lack of volunteer editors' capacities in this category, I guess.

Status of Site

I would like to know the status of http://www.notebookspecials.com. I posted about 9 months ago, and would like to know how far I am in the list. Thank you

No change, I'm afraid - it still awaits review.

As for a position in a list, we have had to stop giving out that information, I'm afraid. We found that the length of the list bears no correlation with the time-to-review for any particular site, and that it was setting false expectations.

I appreciate you looking that up. I don't want to be offensive, but can I expect to be indexed anytime in the near future? It has been 9 in this particular category and it seems that nothing has moved. Is it possible for me to be moved to another category that will be reviewed on a more frequent basis?

No, categories should be chosen on the basis of where the site should fit, moving to another category where an editor is working on sites, just causes that editor to move it back to the right place, as he curses under his breath about having to do that, and results in a note in your record that this was done.

And we can't have site owners asking for priority processing in this forum. Sites have to be wait unitl they are destined to be edited, not predictable, not guaranteed, maybe today, maybe in a year or two.
