status of http://daveola.com/Triumph/

I want to get my site (http://daveola.com/Triumph/) as well as a number of other sites added to the category:

http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Autos/Makes_and_Models/Triumph/TR3/

I tried becoming an editor, but I was turned down because I didn't mention the URL above when I applied (I didn't realize that was necessary, though in retrospect it makes sense). Does it make sense to apply again as an editor?

And I've tried using add URL and it hasn't been added through that channel either.

I was just wondering why I can't seem to get any links added to that category - I think the links I'm trying to put up have some useful content for Triumph TR3 owners.

Thanks for your time.

[sorry about the second posting - I posted a new thread and realized that I should've followed up on this thread instead - so I've deleted that thread and posted here]

Any chance of ever getting a response?

I'd love to get a response on this - it's been over six months (the whole thing has been over a year now) and I'm still hearing nothing..

Help?

It's been almost a year, when should I check again? (This whole attempt to get my site listed has gone on for multiple years... *sigh*)

I am sorry to say that the status of your submission still hasn't changed. It is still waiting for review. Maybe the Open Directory could need an editor for this kind of car - but I don't even own a car ...

I offered to be an editor but was turned down because of my submission.

When should I check back? I guess I don't quite understand what the difficulty is in adding a page to dmoz - maybe there should be a FAQ to help explain why it's not just a matter of looking at the page and adding it to the listing?

Should I resubmit my editor application?

It can take anything from a few minutes to several hours to review a site. It depends on the type of site, the complexity of the site, the category it was submitted to, the chances of the site being some sort of spam or misrepresentation, whether the site has a previous edit history, whether the site has browser compatability problems, etc.etc.

With hundreds of thousands of sites being suggested, that's a lot of time.

In addition there is a lot of other work an active editor will be doing, moving misplaced submissions to the right category, checking existing listings, building new categories, searching for sites [not submiited] to fill empty categories, restructurng hierarchies, connecting categories to other languages and so on. This can take at least as much time as regular editing.
