It was submitted to this category about (I'm guessing) 4 months ago.

I also emailed the category editor (or perhaps the category above), but haven't heard anything back.

There are around a 100 sites awaiting review in that category, but the local editor seems to be just about to "timeout" and become inactive (hence why you didn't receive an answer to your email).

Ah huh! That's why. What's my next move? Do we have to weight for a new editor to be assigned?

Does this mean no new sites will be added for a while in that category?

Shopping as a whole is backlogged, and Shop/Health (whole thing) is on my Top 10 list for 'Shop Trees That Need Help Most' if that's any indication. Most of the categories on my Top 10 list have queues into the thousands. This is not to say it won't be reviewed - it will - but most likely it will be awhile. Editors at higher Shopping levels have access to the queue, as do Metas, Editalls, and Catmods. Because we're relatively small in number, we stress the importance of submitting to the most *specific* category level possible where more editors can reach it. If there's a viable (lower) category that your site would be more appropriate to, notify us here, and we'll happily move it down. <img src="/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
