Status of http://www.akronmarbles.com

I submitted this site for review....just wondering how long this process takes. This is the category I submitted it to.

Currently the editor side of dmoz.org is down, and editors cannot get in to check the status. All I can see is that it has not been published.

We have no estimate on when the site will be back up. Mabye someone can check when it goes back up.

There is no set time to review sites. It could be a coulpe hours or a couple of months+.

[edited] dmoz.org is now working again, editors will be able to see the site in queue.

Your site has not been touched by an editor yet and should still be waiting with about 3 other sites. The category has no direct editor. There is an editor up one level, but has not been active lately. So you might have to be patient for a little bit.

I appreciate the information! I actually emailed the editor that was one up from the category....was this a bad thing to do on my part? Only asked the same general question that is posted here.....Didn't know that it would probably be the person that would look over my site. I see now that this is taboo! Am i doomed? Brian

It shouldn't be a problem. The person may not reply to you, but he/she shouldn't hold any grudge.

But like I said the editor has not been active lately, so who knows how long it might take. <img src="/images/icons/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Sending a friendly e-mail to an editor isn't taboo, although you may wish to wait a few weeks after a submission before you ask for status. OTOH, since the Resource Zone forum is now available, submitters will probably get a faster answer here.

I would like to thank everyone that has provided me with advice! This forum is great. It is enlightening to read the old post also......this Spam issue seems to bring the directory down.
