Checking the status of http://www.automotiveaddicts.com

It was submitted to: http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Autos/Enthusiasts I believe it was added twice, which I hope will not cause any problems. I would also like to ask if I can submit it to http://dmoz.org/Recreation/Autos/Chats_and_Forums/ if it is was not properly submitted to the Enthusiasts directory.

Thanks. Seems most people are rejected in getting added to the directory. I looked at several other sites and I just wonder why they do not get added. Some look very professional and wothy of getting added. Maybe they should start rejecting some of the editors of the directory as they have no consideration for others wellbeing... as some sites are peoples businesses and way of life as they try to climb the business ladder. What do I know. I just try.

I'm not sure why you think that getting rid of editors that don't meet some quota will increase the number of site reviewed.

Think about it for a moment. If we get rid of of all editors that only do 5 to 10 editors a year, who will now do those edits? It's not that we have a giant line up of good editors waiting to take over the work.

Also, you musunderstand what ODP is, it's not a free service to get sites listed, and help businesses be successfull. Think of it as a place that tries to list businesses that are successful. If you believe that a listing in ODP will make or break the successe of a business, you might have the wrong business model.

As for the editors, each to his own master stands or falls -- and that based on quality of past contributions, and potential for more contributions.

We are, in respect of our standards, rather strict evaluating the former; we are, in respect to our limited knowledge of the future, very lenient toward the latter.

You are welcome to pass any suggestions for changes in this respect to the ODP staff and admins, who set those priorities.

I am starting to better understand how this all works. Thank you for the reply. I too can be critical of things and maybe too much. I guess the need for editors is at an all time high and never diminishing. I want to believe no one is being overlooked and i guess you try to confirm that in your reply.
