Okay, Thanks. Out of curiosity how long do you think it will take until it's out of the review status?

That's a "how long is a piece of string" question. If the category is recognized as seriously in need of more development, and there aren't many spammers targeting it, the string is often shorter than long. If the converse, the string is often longer than short. Approximately.

Cool...I understand where you're going with that. Out of curiosity, I just barely changed the look and feel of my website and was wondering if I needed to resubmit for a new review? I don't think it would matter because we haven't been indexed yet, but I just want to make sure to do everything by the book........

If there's been no review yet, then there's not yet a need for a re-review.

Only if the content of the site has drastically changed AFTER the original review AND the description was incorrect as a result, would a resubmittal (actually an "Update URL" request) be appropriate.

One last question in regards to my site... As posted previously, I changed my site's look and feel. My site is now built in PHP, not HTML. Because of this, my hosting company does some form of instant redirect when you type in www.bigslcpoker.com. It instantly brings you to http://bigslcpoker.com/index.php. Is this going to cause a problem in any way, shape, or form? Thanks again in advance.

Alright...this is truly the last question regarding "submission status". Do I need to keep checking every day until my site does get listed or will I be notified by email that it has happend. Also, and I don't know if this can/will be answered, but do you think that I have a good chance of being accepted? I read a different post that said 98% of all poker sites get rejected. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

>Do I need to keep checking every day until my site does get listed ...
No, that pot'll boil over just as well while you're out of the room.

>or will I be notified by email that it has happend.
No. There are good reasons why submitters are very seldom contacted by e-mail.

>Also, and I don't know if this can/will be answered, but do you think that I have a good chance of being accepted?

It's not chance, we do it on purpose. (WHEN a site is reviewed will seem like chance...) Without the review, we can't tell.

Would you like it to be listed?

Of course, it would be great if you and everyone else posting in this forum were to get listed but maybe spending a little coffee time reading posts here may just help you out in the long run.
It is posted on more than 1 occasion that incomplete sites are rarely accepted and unfortunately yours is no different.
"Coming soon" and "NAME HERE" is a little indication that you just may have an incomplete site on your hands.
I would think you have a better chance than others (strictly my oppinion-which means nothing) to get listed if you were to actually complete the site before the editor in charge were to review it.
So, you should hope that the editor takes his/her time to review your site for you to do some fine tuning and replace "Coming soon" with actual content.
If not, chances are you may be put at the back of the line once again for an incomplete site.
Good Luck

This is not the opinion of an editor or anyone else who really matters, It is only my opinion and I like to think that it means something.

Believe me, I understand all of what you just said. The content will be completely uploaded by this weekend, and there is a bunch of original stuff on there already. As previously posted, this site is less than 2 days old. Our previous site, which is the one I initially asked for review, was completely done. I don't think I have too much to worry about as I don't believe my luck will be so bad that an editor will review before Monday. Thanks for the input though...
BTW: what do you think of the site overall? Any input is always good.

We don't do site reviews here. I haven't even looked at your site, but if the post above is correct, maybe you should work on your site instead os posting here :)

I get quite a few sites submitted when incomplete, on some kind of assumption that they are in an orderly queue and they need to be in the queue ASAP, but won't get reviewed for six months.

But when I review them a couple of days after submission, and they are under construction or incomplete - they get deleted on the spot and tagged as being under construction. If resubmitted they will not be first on my list to be reviewed again - since they were tagged as being under construction the first time round, I will undertake a more in detail review the next time. I'm more likely to deal with another site in the pile.

And is anyone still wondering why "submittal date" is not a "significant datum" for editors?

Thanks for the heads up on the other forum. There seems to be a ton of good info there. Once I familiarize myself with it I will definitely post there.

This one is still good though ;)

God there is a ton of people trying to get into this category...I can only imagine how much crap there is out there for the editors to sift through....

I guess I'm going to need to wait a LONG time before I get into the ODP because of all the spammers. :(
