Rejected.

You're not actually providing any shareware software of your own, you're just linking to downloads (usually on another site) of products made by other people. That's insufficient unique content.

What can you tell me about CNET, Tucows... they don't provide their software, they're just linking to downloads, too!!
Here is ok?

I'll tell you what I tell everyone about directories. Four years ago, we were adding a lot of "link list" or "directory" sites, because they represented unique content. Now, the ODP itself (as a directory) makes it hard (and increasingly harder) to create a directory that meets that criterion.

So the sites that were listed 1 year ago wouldn't get listed today, and the sites that were listed 2 years ago might even get removed if we re-reviewed them now. You have to run fast just to keep from going backwards.

And this site doesn't come up to the minimal standards for a year ago, in content; its design rather detracts from its usefulness.

I think trying to bring it up to meet the ever-rising ODP standards for directories would be time wasted.

What the editors above were trying to tell you was that your site has been rejected for a lack of unique content. For this reason, there is no point you resubmitting your site to any category since it does not meet the dmoz guidelines.

You can review the guidelines at dmoz.org/guidelines. In the future, had your content increased very significantly in its scope (ideally including content unique to your site) then you could resubmit, but in the opinion of the editors who posted above, you would be unlikely to get a listing based on just links to other sites.

Hope that clarifies the situation. :)

I don't think so... "lack of unique content" sounds ridiculous!
I can give you site names with the same content and they were indexed! Come on man, let's be honest are you tired or angry or i don't know... you didn't like your breakfast... what's the catch? no matter, i give up, but i'm very, very dissapointed...

That pretty much says it all -- if other sites have the same content as you then the content on your site isn't unique.
