The submission was rejected, because your site doesn't conform with the category guidelines given in the URL suggestion form: Please submit only English language sites which are Travel Agents in the City of San Jose, Costa Rica.

Thanks for your reply. Our site (www.costaricanconnection.net) is in English so I imagine that the reason it may have gotten rejected is because on the site we only talk about our office in Boulder, Colorado, USA. Nevertheless, we also have offices in San Jose, Costa Rica, which may make it ok for the submission to have been the one we used. Would it be better to submit the site to http://dmoz.org/Regional/Central_Am...el_and_Tourism/Travel_Services/Tour_Operators

If you have an office in San Jose, Costa Rica, you should clearly mention that on your site. Why hide this from your clients?

Thanks again for your prompt reply. Based on our statistics we expect most of our customers to be from the US and that is why we started the office in Boulder, Colorado which has been selling vacation packages in the US for over two years now. The feedback that we have gotten from our customers throughout this time is that they really value having someone in the US to provide these specialty services (we only provide travel arrangements for Costa Rica) but they are not as concerned as to what are the logistics behind the business. In fact, as we also wholesale our services to other travel agencies in the US, sometimes people that travel through us don't realize that when they bought from their Travel Agency of choice, they were actually purchasing our services as well. So, in a nutshell, we don't estipulate the more logistic part of our business because our customer feedback shows that their main interest is to know that, while their trip is to Costa Rica, the sale services are provided in the US.

I have been thinking about your remarks stating that we do not make mention about the fact that we are a Costa Rican Company with Customer Support offices in the US. When we first created the site we didn't think about approaching things from that perspective but after your email we have thought much more about it and it seems logical to include such references both for our customers as well as if this is what is creating problems for our listing with ODP. Our title and description at ODP could also change so that the title could be "Costa Rican Connection" and the description could be something like: "Based in Costa Rica and with Customer Support Offices in the US, the Costa Rican Connection allows ease to purchase travel packages and arrange reservations for your Costa Rica Vacation and travel". Could you provide us with a little bit of feedback to whether this would solve our problem in terms of our listing or whether we should list on a more generic category such as:

or
