How many more pages of this new sports directory of yours are you proposing to submit?

Please say "none".

Thanks.

One directory, as many domains as you wish, however many that is -- but only one ODP submittal, is the acceptable procedure.

Can I ask why? What is wrong with my directory? It is one of the best, if not the best Cricket directories on the net. I have been running it for a number of years so can't work out why it has been declined.

This is a good example of the situation that private directories face. The ODP has over 1000 links; Yahoo has over 1500. What value can you add to what the surfer can already find at the directory are already surfing? And what are the chances that in another six months you'll still be able to add value above and beyond what the collaborative projects provide?

I don't know the answer to that question. (That's why I try to work cooperatively and incrementally with other people to the same goal--so our work is additive rather than combative.) The editor who reviewed the site didn't see that it gave an answer either. And that was that.

And yes, probably we have directories that were listed some time ago, that will be deleted whenever they are next reviewed (judged by the current standard.) That's usually the case -- which is one reason that forward-looking editors are ever more hesitant to add directories: over time, their value degrades even if they don't disappear.

At least the people that submit their Cricket websites to my directory don't have to wait around for months on end and then have to visit a forum to find out that their link has been declined.

Unlike DMOZ or Yahoo we are constantly reviewing our links so that any dead or misleading links are cleaned up.

If you think that we are not worthy of being listed at DMOZ then thats your decision, but I know of 447 Cricket sites that we list and 180,000 a year unique visitors that would be disappointed.
