This category currently doesn't have an editor. I emailed
the editor of the parent category but unfortunately didn't hear anything.

It is not required that editors respond to emails, most editors do not respond to feedback, as it may open them up to abuse.

This forum is designed to provide what are considered to be acceptable responses to a submitters queries.

There is nothing you can do other than wait for an editor to take an interest in that category. There are many editors who edit higher in the tree, and those who can edit anywhere, who can edit this category. It's just a case of who gets there when.
