When it was posted a few months ago there was a category editor, recently the category started showing up as no editor. What's the deal there?

The category editor list is updated only when a page changes. You could see a category editor who died three years ago, on a page that last changed 37 months ago! But suddenly an editall corrects a typo there and ... as if by magic, the category editor disappears.

No big deal one way or another. Just because there's an editor doesn't mean there's an ACTIVE editor. Just because there's no editor doesn't mean nobody is active. The simple fact is, the vast majority of all edits are done by people who are not listed as editors for that category.

The editor information was meant to commend the volunteers, not to suggest any kind of fixed priorities or deadlines in submittal processing. Unfortunately, the general practice has been the exact opposite.
