Hi about 6 weeks ago I think - feels like that anyways - I posted a request for my freelance web design service website to go in the regional section under

Lancashire
Accrington
Businesses and Services
Internet and computers

Now so far I haven't seen anything yet I'm sure I've seen other sites get added so I was wondering if anyone knows when mine is going to get added and also if not why not.

I am only a one man band trying to make a go of things so if I have been refused on a commercial basis then thats hardly fair when there is established commercial businesses in there who look like they don't need any help. If that isn't the case can you tell me please if I need to wait longer or if I stuffed up my original application.

I shall return in 6 months to re-ask the status though I have to be honest when I say - I fail to see why you even bother having a forum - if we cannot ask questions, why not just have an info page saying....

"if your site is not listed then tough."

Would be more helpful and possibly more accurate.

No need to reply just venting frustration at a forum which obviously serves no other purpose than to provide a clicky platform for its editors to make fly/humourous/insultive comments to people who may genuinely be trying to do something with thier lives.

I had a look at other peoples posts too - 2 years for a site to get listed???? Come off it - are you guys on some sly commission or what - As time goes by I find myself going off Google (like the rest of the internet community) fast!!!!!!

NO wonder when you start to look into how it works.

Please... the only thing that bobrat was asking you to do is to read the guidelines which tell you how to frame a status request. The implication being that you did not provide us with enough information for us to easily investigate the status of the suggestion. (In this case, providing a clickable link to the ODP category where the suggestion was made).

No-one made any fly/humourous/insultive comments about your status request.

Your opinion about Google is certainly something you are fully entitled to. We are not Google, though - the only connection we have with them is that they are one of many sites who use the data we provide.

Now, if you would like to do a metaphorical hit of the reset button, and give us the information that we require to look into your status request, someone will no doubt do their best to give you the information you need.
