The most recent submission we have for that URL was 20th September. You are asked to wait at least 1 month after submission, as per the forum guidelines.

As it is the category is very backlogged so you may wish to wait another couple of months before enquiring again.

Depends how you mean 'more specific' (some examples would be nice). As an international mission, it seems the present category would be the best for your site.

I only checked Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/Christianity/Missions/ - the main category, that is - and that's where I saw you waiting

Thank you. I'm considering re-submitting to /Society/Religion_and_Spirituality/Christianity/Missions/Worldwide_Organizations/ instead. Is there the same backlog in this category? I appreciate your help.

You can submit to that category if that is the MOST appropriate category for the site. Please do not submit there as well just because you think you will get listed faster. If an editor does not agree with that placement the site will just be moved to where they think it belongs anyway.

Thanks. I think this is the most likely category an editor would place the site and in retrospect wish that I had submitted to this category. I've been waiting for two months which I understand is not necessarily long and am just wondering if I'll be in for this same type of wait under the more specific category.

If you think that category best fits submit it one more time there. Two submissions does not make a spammer.
