I submitted my site http://www.jensensilver.com several months ago and never heard anything so I recently resubmitted not realizing that the process took much longer than I thought. I originally submitted to http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Antiques_and_Collectibles/Silver_and_Flatware/ but when I resubmitted I thought maybe it was better to apply under http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Jewelry/Estate_and_Collectible/ since we sell vintage silver jewelry, flatware and hollowware. Sorry about that. What do I do and can you give me some idea about where I am on the queue.
It is so refreshing to actually deal with people and not robots. I love your directory and the community.

Looks like you made a bunch of submittals. Two of them ended up in the Antique Silver&Flatware category (which looks like the right place to me, and where the queue is under 50 sites.) I moved one of them over to New York (since it claims to have a storefront there.)

The other submittals will probably be tracked down and destroyed in due time, but watch for it somewhere in Regional, as well as under Silver&Flatware.

Hi,
thanks for your response. I have a couple of questions. First, shouldn't the listing that exists be under our business name, JENSENSILVER.COM and not by what we sell i.e. Georg Jensen Silver?

Also, how come when I search by our URl, www.jensensilver.com in the general ODP search, our URL doesn't come up?

Well yes it should be the business name (which is rarely anything.com), It's confusing the way the address reads on the site as to what the business name is - in fact I would have tossed up between 'Soren Jensen' (the copyright) and 'The Showplace' - Submit an update url request explaining why they got the name wrong (mind you as a user it is not clear either).

Search is usually rebuilt weekly, so sites may not show up for that week. Additionally it will never match urls in the form www.jensensilver.com , but look for jensensilver.com instead.

I think we should probably also be down one category from http://dmoz.org/Regional/North_America/United_States/New_York/Localities/N/New_York_City/Manhattan/Business_and_Economy/Shopping to antiques and collectibles since we sell vintage georg jensen silver. Should that also go into the request for update?

One last thing, can you give me any idea of where we stand in the line for listing under http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Antiques_and_Collectibles/Silver_and_Flatware/

Yes, in the update request, tack on the change category request [add it to the end of the description like this] but only if you don't sell modern pieces as well. Oh, and please don't try to alter the description by filling it with keywords, factual errors are OK to fix, but if the editor just sees a keyword filled description they are not likely to see the additional change requests.

As you can see from the info under my name I work in the Regional branch, and am unable to check where your submission is in Shopping - hopefully someone else will let you know.

Yes, thats where we meant, Shopping is the root of the tree, and as it had already been stated where it was waiting, just the generic category 'Shopping' is what we said as shorthand.

Unfortunately, there's no change. It's still waiting with about the same number of sites.

We can never tell you when a site would be reviewed. Editors are volunteer, and as a result review sites when it fits into their schedules. There are just too many variables to provide a time frame. All I can tell you is that your submission from Feb 24 is still waiting in the queue with around 30 or so other sites, and that your site is listed in Regional: North America: United States: New York: Localities: N: New York City: Manhattan: Business and Economy: Shopping: Antiques and Collectibles.
